3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
John’s bottle. A cute Belgian beer with lots of sweet and citrus finish. More Simcoe than Sorachi observed, so orange but also tangerine flavour. Good drinkability. Cloudy orange body with big bubbly head. Sweetish more than hoppy bitter.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Keg at the Kings Arms Bethnal Green. Clear orange, slightly sparkling, small white head. Aroma - caramel, musty, slight bubblegum and touch of sourness. Body is medium, quite foamy. Taste is rum and coke up front, cardboard, booze, tequilla with salt. Brought up memories of some long forgotten cocktails. Decent stuff.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JUN 3, 2014 750ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, amber colour with huge, thick, frothy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Hoppy aroma covers a wide range of fruity flavours, gooseberry, red berries, rhubarb, overripe peach, grapefruit, also a sweaty, resinous, cheesy touch, peppery, spicy hints of yeast. Taste is slightly sweet bready, yeasty, subtle hints of overripe yellow stone fruit, some toffee in the finish. Belgian elaborateness reconciles with a self-inflicted, supposable loss of hop freshness due to cellaring.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
750 ml bottle at home, poured into a tulip glass. ABV 9%
Deep orange copper, towards even red maybe, quite cloudy body that seems to clear after a while, revealing slow activity in it. Tall off-white head, thick, with very good retention. Heavy lacing curtains around the glass after the foam has collapsed.
Aroma of malts, some caramel, light alcohol, peach, apricot, light lemon grass notes. Nice aroma but it smells more like a Tripel rather than an IPA and it seems that the sorachi ace hop hasn’t added much or -more possibly- has faded, it is an almost two year old beer after all.
Taste is also malty with lots of caramel, the alcohol more than notable, a bit of yeast, peaches. Again, reminds me more of a tripel. Light bitterness on the aftertaste with short duration.
Medium body, good carbonation.
Well, too bad, I didn’t get to taste it when it was younger, now it’s still a nice beer, just not what I think it was when it came out.

4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured from a 0,75l bottle. Head is exquisite, but nose is quite faint. Most of the hops have faded away. Overall taste is good, excellent bitter-caramel balance. A great IPA, just would have enjoyed a fresh one more.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap @ Henrik. This one pours a really deep cloudy dark orange, almost amber colored body with a small quickly islandy off-white head. Sweet sticky malty caramel nose with tones of nuts, paint thinner, ripe sweet fruits, alcohol and sweet syrupy date juice. Quite powerful aroma in this and its not bad at all! It has lots of ripe sweetness in the taste as well. Below average on the carbonation and oily in the mouth. Had thought it wold be more sticky sweet in the taste, but it’s quite balanced. The sweetness from the dark boiled down fruits and berries are present. I get a little bit of wood and woodwork near the finish. Grassy bitterness and yeast ends this one of. Yeah, nice stuff. 12.10.2013

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
75 cl bottle from beergium.com approx 64dkk. clear dark golden, large dark yellowish and brownish head. mild aroma, slightly malty, very very faint hoppy, flavor is malty, boozy, slightly hoppy, pretty bland and boring, palate is very smooth however, overall a disappointing beer, neither belgian nor hoppy, just boring malts and a whiff of stale hops.
