Tap at La Trappiste, Brugge, Belgium. A dark straw coloured pour with a healthy white head on top. Lovely hoppy, malty aroma. Tastes hoppy, really malty, caramel, slight sweetness and a pleasing bitterness. A superbly drinkable DIPA and itís from Belgium.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
From tap comes a beautifully cloudy amber coloured DIPA with a creamy head. Nose has hoppy citrus and tropical fruits, caramel, honey and grass. Taste has these hoppy flavours as well with a nice bitter punch: more fruity and bitter than the regular magma. Mouth feel is a bit oily with lively carbonation. Very nice beer, but very American and not too Belgian.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap, pour reddish tinted copper, nice head and lace. Aromas and flavor of bitter pine forward hops, cherries, wood, malt, and some other berries. Needed less sugary malt and more grapefruit but thatís tough around these parts. Medium bodied.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
23rd November 2013
Hazy amber beer, massive pale cream coloured head. Nose of lactose malt and tropical fruits. Palate is airy. Starts smooth but turns minerally crisp. Taste follows the nose but is more intense. A little caramel in the lactose malt. Good tropical fruits with pineapple cubes rising to the top. Hop spice. Curiously does not have the harsh bitterness of so many Galaxy hopped beers and thatís not a bad thing, allows the hop fruits to shine. Finishes smooth. Very drinkable, great tropical fruits.
