Keg at Lowlander, 27th March 2013. This is a tasty double IP, drinks easily, nice clean hops and refreshing, drinks below its ABV

Copper foggy color. Non existant head. Smells of sweet butterscotch, light hop, caramel and brown sugar. Rich body with caramel, and goes down like a buttery chardonnay. Beautiful beer thats very well balanced and complex.

Pours hazy amber with three finger head. Looks very nice. Aroma is very hoppy and fruity. Taste is a little hoppy a bit sweet and dry aftertaste. Very high drinkability despite the high alcohol. I really like this beer.

Copper coloured IPA, with thick head. Fruity American hops floating towards my nose. Flavor has sweet and bitter fruits. At first there is sweetness which steps away to give the floor to bitter hops. There is some twist here I can’t describe, it has something to do with the belgian yeast? Exciting beer, not the regular Imperial IPA.

Wittales (436) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - MAR 23, 2013
Appearance was cloudy copper gold with off white diminishing creamy 1 finger head, spotty lacing. Aromas are sweet caramel, slight floral citrus, pine, herbal danky hops with hints of candi, no alcohol. Taste are sweet caramel malts with deep fruits of plum like and lemon spicey danky herbal hops. Little alcohol with estery sourness with candi, also. Palate was soft smooth creamy CO2 with medium body, then long estery yeasty citrusy finish. Smooth Belgian IpA.

From Tap at ’the Backdoor’ Ghent. Appearance: dark amber beer, off white nice blonde head. Nose: wood, pineapple, soft touch of hops. Taste: hops (comes out nicely), bitter. Very nice drinkable beer.

Bottle. Orange amber body topped with a CRAZY explosively carbonated head. Super gassy! Settles nicely leaving a mess of lace. Aroma is very sweet, lots of honey and overripe fruit esters. Yeasty spicy palate, VERY yeasty, again with sticky honey malts and overripe fruits. No way in hell this approaches the typical IIPA, but as a Belgian strong ale I loved it!

Kosmokrator (289) - ITALY - MAR 18, 2013

DruncanVeasey (6102) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Premier, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - MAR 13, 2013
330ml bottle. Dark, dusted gold with the standard dense Belgian foam. Subtly humming aroma full of Fruit salad chews, jasmine, dank animal fur, grenadine, underpinning grassiness and the almond of alcohol. Fine and tropical with suggestions of pineapple, peach, red apple and those Fruit salad chews again. Finishes nougat-like, slightly nutty with mellow tongue-numbing warmth; grassy hop, white pepper. Bog standard tripel with a whiff of non-European hop exoticism about it. Only the booze lets it down. But I suppose if you didn’t want that you could drink shandy. Or Jupiler. Excellent.
