Troubadour Magma is an amber colored beer with the bitterness of an American IPA but balanced with the fruitiness of a Belgian Triple. Enjoy the explosion of fruity aromas from the dry-hopping. -- A Triple IPA wich Czech bittering hops and Simcoe for Dry-hopping. Made by De Proef for Drie Musketeers, Ursel.

Bottle 330 ml at Delirium Hoppy Loft, Bruxelles. Pours amber with white head. Malty, spicy and yeasty. Not sure if something was wrong with the bottle but it doesnít really taste like IPA. Was disappointed.

Pours normal muddy black, but with rather full, fluffy dark beige head. Roast grains and hops vie for the taste buds in a nicely blended beer. Bitter finish.

Beautiful hazy amber color with nice big white head. Medium to full body. Aroma is slightly hoppy, mango, and piney notes. Some dry hopps too. Very fruity. Taste is overall sweet, followed by some pleasant bitterness, that dissipates rather quickly. This one is a must try, really unique and a nice surprise. I expected standard IPA, but this one is nothing close to the standard, itís much better, and even if you donít like IPA so much, you wonít be dissapointed by what this beer has to offer. Iím in love <3

UPDATED: AUG 27, 2014 Nice hazy dark orange color, extremely big off-white head. Hoppy nose. Biiig mango aroma, not grassy at all. Pleasant sweet taste with medium long slightly bitter finish. Body is medium to full, soft carbonated, creamy texture. Alcohol is very well hidden. All in all, great DIPA, not as bitter as most of us would expect, but with great mango aroma. Really refreshing.

Appearance: Hazy deep golden color with a fine thick white head. Nice lacing.
Aroma: Fruity, some yeast and citric hoppy. Mild malty.
Palate: Medium + body. Tad sweet and a fresh bitterness. Average carbonation.
Taste: Pleasant citric hoppy, toffee, yeast (saisonish) and balanced mild round fruity flavour. Kind of plum fruity. Some spicy notes. Where did all the alcohol go? Dangerously well hidden.
Overall impression: Pure class. Note very typical DIPA! IPA meets saison and they live together in perfect harmony the rest of their lives. One more please!
Personal stats: Bottle from my Summer Santa JefVerstraete

Amber golden color with a decent white head. Nose is full of fruit aromas, lots of fresh hops and a copper, metallic hint. Begins with soft, bready malt, which soon only underlines fresh, fruity, tropical hops. In this tropical flavor, there are pinches of both lemony bitterness and spicy, alcoholic warmth detectable. Also malts turn sweeter as the big hopwave brushes down the throat, along with a blistering, high carbonation, which is surprisingly spice loaded. Metallic, very bitter, scalding finish, well supported by a lively, coppery carbonation, in which also toffeeish, burned malt shines through. Biting spice sharpness drys out the palate for quite a while, I honestly think that "Magma" is the perfect name for this unusual double IPA, which convinces on the hop part, but also contains a lot aggressive, hot spices.

Thanks to Arjen for sharing. Cloudy dark golden colored. Beautiful nose of hops (Simcoe), fruit, and pine. Pleasant bitter flavor, Simcoe again, fruity nose, thick mouthfeel. Iím not a big fan of the style, but the balance and especially the Simcoe is just great. A big surprise to me, but a splendid brew, ranks among my favorite DIPAís.

On tap at the Atlanta Yard House. A: lclear medium amber with a somewhat weak head. Aroma: boozy with a hint of cognac oversome Belgian yeast and a trace of bread. Flavor: lsweet up front turning ightly bitter by the finish. Building booziness. Feel: light-medium body; carbonation seems too low.

This is far from my favourite style (actually one of my least favourite!) but this is a very tasty brew. Amber coloured. Aroma is a bit off - something strange mixed with the fruity hops. Taste is spot on - big tropical fruits, bitterness, mild yeasty tang and a sweet finish. Lovely beer.

On tap at Moeder Lambik in Brussels. Aroma of biscuit, pine, slight cat urine, grape/apple skin. Taste is sweet at first but finishes with a slight bitter bite. Not dry by any means though. Medium plus body with a medium carbonation.
