Pours a three-finger cream head that fades very slowly leaving a good lace. Hazy amber color with a few floaties. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Nose is light grapefruit hops, flavor is almost sweet grapefruit, malts are balancing the hops really well. Decent TIPA. $4.99 for a 330ml bottle from Kappy’s Fine Wine & Spirits Peabody, Ma.

Sweet malty aroma. Copper in color with white head. Malty sweet, like a barleywine with belgian yeast tones.

Bottle. Big hoppy nose, tons and tons of pine over lighter dust. Lighter lemony citrus and stronger grapefruit. Cloudy gradient golden pour with a tiny-bubbled and noisy beige head. Lychee! Taste is strongly bitter but with a lot of apparent sweetness from the hops. Touch of metallic vanilla and yeast. Fullish body is gummy with resin and hop oils. A sipper with lightly-stinging alcohol. Probably won’t have again, but well made.

Bottle - 330ml. Beautiful cloudy golden body with a thick off-white foamy head. Good malty/hoppy aroma with orange and yeasty hints. Alcohol is very well hidden. Sharp hoppy taste that carries fruity and herbal notes. Ends with a decent, warming bittersweet finish. Enjoyable.

Thanks to drabmuh for picking this bottle up for me. Poured into a snifter. Pours a light golden copper color with a two-finger head with great retention and thick lacing. There is a great cap throughout. The nose is quite plain with a faint yeast character and a very minor amount of hops. Slightly sweet with a bit of peach. Taste is sweet and a bit grainy without any real hop or yeast character. Quite puzzling. A bit sweet and really not much else. Light caramel and stone fruits could be in there, if I try to throw out another few characteristics. Medium body and slightly cloying. Overall, not a big fan of this. Belgian yeast meets Simcoe hops. The result is somewhat conflicted but highly drinkable. On the nose I get (surprise, surprise) passion fruit and Belgian yeast which combined makes me think of toffee, don’t know why. The taste it’s more of the same with a rather dry, medium heavy bitterness finishing things of. The 9 % ABV hardly shows taste wise but it gives the beer a nice, full body.

bottle@bar: bright, hazy golden/orange colour with a decent head that leaves nice lacing behind, complex & deep taste, bold dry hops coupled with some sweetness & yeast, touch of orange & pineapple with some caramel, flowers, very balanced, the hops rather than leading to a punch in the aftertaste are continuously present, great beer

Bottled, BB 2/23/12. Poured cloudy, medium orangey-amber with a tall, dense cap of whitish head.. sticky lacing as it descended. The aroma picked up pine and deeper grapefruit over a sweet bready base.. smelled a little sugary, but it was certainly aiight. The flavor found lighter-skinned fruits and a pinch of honey at the core, with lots of fruity and other nondescript bitterness around.. warmer through the finish, with a tacky, bitter feel.. some orange and pineapple kicked in right at the end. Medium-plus bodied and very sugary on the palate.. this never really came together for me.

Amber coloured, full white head. Mostly malts in the aroma, some nuts, red fruit, mild yeast. Doesn’t impress me. Misses the flavour and bitterness of an IPA or fruity sweetness of a triple. Too bad. (At De Troubadour, 33cl bottle)
