3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
I enjoyed this quite a bit. There’s nothing spectacular, but a nice balance of malt, hop and a slight belgian yeasty finish. tasty.

Amazing smell loaded with fresh fruity hops. taste is mainly bitter, but nicely balanced with a bit of sweetness and caramel. This caramel flavour detracts a bit from the hops I think, would have been better if it was more straightforward and a bit lighter.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
Unclear amber with a off white lasting head. Strong citrus and caramel nose, some yeasty notes. Flavourwise is densely sweet & bitter. Nothing new under the sun.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Wildeman. Orange and murky medium head. Nose of hops, spices and ginger. Nice malty and spicy taste (again, ginger?) Quite smooth texture. Enjoyable.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sampled from an 11.2 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy orange color with an enormous foamy orange-white head that lingered and produced good lacing. The aroma was sweet, tangy and a bit tart with notes of lemon, lime, orange, pineapple and sugar. The flavor was sweet, tangy and tart with moderate table sugar, yeast, candied pears and peaches. The finish was long, sweet, tart and had lingering candied fruit. Thick and full bodied. Well done.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a cloudy, amber color with an off-white head. Strong citrus and pine hops right away on this one. Not too much alcohol as I thought there would be on the aroma. Flavor is hops right away with some Belgian yeast and more alcohol warming then expected from the aroma.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
My Bottom Line:
Oranges, herbs and spruce are conjured up by this Belgian Double IPA’s evocative hop profile, as doughy yeast and fluffy effervescence precede a levelled bitterness.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A tower of persistent foam appropriately settles atop the cloudy beige orange.
-Light alcohol heat is felt in the second half.
-Malt presence is quite shy. Complexity may not be important, but this remains very pleasurable if you are in the mood for a Houblon Chouffe sibling.
-This is quite lean, so amazingly drinkable for 9%.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle @ home. Aroma is loverly sweet fruity hop with a light sweaty blue cheese note. Flavour is deep malty with strong bitter fruity earthy hops.
