Troubadour Magma is an amber colored beer with the bitterness of an American IPA but balanced with the fruitiness of a Belgian Triple. Enjoy the explosion of fruity aromas from the dry-hopping. -- A Triple IPA wich Czech bittering hops and Simcoe for Dry-hopping. Made by De Proef for Drie Musketeers, Ursel.

Appearance is a hazy, orangey, light amber, a huge white head which settles down leaving loads of lacing. Aroma- tropical fruit, pine, hop resin, orange and lemon. Taste- fruity, malt undertones, pineapple juice, some bitterness but not as much as expected, a bit creamy, fruity lasting finish. Very nice.

11.2oz bottle - Aroma - an intense aroma of fresh citrus juice, honey..almost toffeeish. Rather complex for an IIPA. Appearance - hazy orange body, 2-finger off-white head, medium retention. Mouthfeel - medium-full bodied, medium carbonation, light stickiness Flavor - light-medium sweetness, lemons, oranges, grass and candi sugar present. Definitely Belgian-ish with the fruity esters. Perhaps not big enough to be a IIPA, but quite tasty. Overall - glad I had a chance to enjoy it and while it was different being a Belgian IIPA, it was still hoppy but with an almost having a lot in common with a BSA. I liked it quite a bit.

Much appreciated IPA-style Belgian ale, the first new beer from this beer company after seven years. Nowadays I’d consider this a classic, with a thick and dense, creamy head and deep amber colour with slightly brownish hue, hazy. Powerful and very appealing aroma of peach, orange zest, apple peel, thyme, citrussy hops, white pepper, aniseed, freshly grated ginger, pineapple, white bread, mango. Fresh fruity onset, rounded and full with medium carbo, very ’citrussy’ which is further enhanced by the gentle but powerful, assertive, elegant citrussy hops establishing a long, dry, very satisfying finish, a bit oily, on a bready and caramelly, solid malt base. Perfectly balanced and appetizing, this has become one of my favorites, as far as the commonly available Belgians are concerned.

Bottle by private import thx Alex A: fruity, caramel, herbacy app: hazy dark copper with thick white head and excellent lacing. T/p: full body with moderate long bitter finish. Soft carbonation. O: good. Not your regular double IPA but offers plenty of fruity aroma with a solid malt backbone. The hop is not as dominant as the description cited I’m suspecting that the travel could have impacted the brew.

On tap 0,25l. Poures a hazy, orange amber colour. Aroma is sweet, bready, wet hay, caramel and hops. Flavour is bittersweet, light caramel, dark citrus and pronounced malt backbone. Heavy, bittersweet finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

hazy orange colour, huge yellowish off-white head, which lasts for several minutes; aroma of piney-tropical fruity notes and earth;taste of tropical fruits, some peach, yeast, and significant malty sweetness; spicy-bittery aftertaste; excellent Belgian strong ale - American style DIPA hybrid

Bit syrupy Belgian triple, with pleasantly high hop level, but cant call it DIPA. Strong malt background, intense fruitiness, some spices, ginger. Pleasant balance between sweet and bitter . Decent well balanced brew, would like to repeat.
