This beer has a nice hoppy smell, must be amerrilo. Taste is not as nice as the smell would sugest. A bit flat in my opinion, just very hoppy, good but not as good as the smell.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 maekchu (1090) - Hirakata, JAPAN - MAY 21, 2013
Bottle from Asahiya. Rich butterscotch with citrusy hops and some alc. fumes. Hazy golden amber color, thin off-white head. Strong, concentrated malty initial, with honey and thick fruitiness / flavors get thicker and stronger in mid / warming alc. punches through in the finish, and then we’re left with flat malty trails of minimal sweetness. Medium body. Nice barleywine-ish aromas, but the flavors are a little disappointing. Seems overdone. The malt bill might be too weak for the hopping. Still, tasty enough.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 hawthorne00 (1860) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - MAY 14, 2013
Bottle. Clear amber with a large off-white head that leaves clumps. Lots of oranges in the aroma, also caramel and peach, honeyed dough, herbs. Sweet and very yeasty with peaches and apricots, some caramel as well as loads of dough. Citrus and herbal notes come through, but the bitterness rumbles where I’d like it to cut through. No drying snap at all to the finish. A little boozy, but agreeably so. Nearly a year within date, but maybe has lost some vibrance.

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange beer with a small white head on top. Aroma is very citric and hop forward. Flavor is quite bitter with a juicy hop juicy mouthfeel. No alcohol detected in either aroma or flavor. Quite nice and easy drinkable. Nice.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Dorqui (1768) - Brescia, ITALY - MAY 6, 2013
Bottled 0,33L. Hazy reddish color, much charged aspect, good bubbly presence and optimal foamy head of long resistance. Much perfumed nose, very alcoholic and with flowery malty final. Cellar, stum, yeast and aged grapes taste, elevated and unbalanced alcoholic impact, sweetness and long yeasty end.
