Troubadour Magma is an amber colored beer with the bitterness of an American IPA but balanced with the fruitiness of a Belgian Triple. Enjoy the explosion of fruity aromas from the dry-hopping. -- A Triple IPA wich Czech bittering hops and Simcoe for Dry-hopping. Made by De Proef for Drie Musketeers, Ursel.

We all know this an IPA, not just a hoppy amber ale. Indeed it is a really great Belgian DIPA. Keep on drinking it. I love this brew. Probably because you don’t find too much good Belgian IPAs and here it is one. Or probably it’s just great by itself. Next time I will describe my impressions because for now I just want to enjoy it.

Sample@SBWF2015. Lätta dofter av citrus och grape. Citrussyrlig smak med en karamellig maltkropp. Kul att belgarna kör med sin variant av den amerikanska DIPA/IIPA:n.

Bottle @ headquarters, Aarhus. Aroma of sweet malt, hops. Hazy amber, white head, lasting. Moderate bitterness, light+ sweetness, some metallic. Full body, oily feel, avg. carbonation, sweet hoppy finish.

Big off-white head with very good retention. Hazy orangish amber colour. Aroma is floral, fruity, citrus, malt and caramel with Belgian yeast hints. Bitter acid flavour, fruity (peach hints), malty caramel and very dry bitter with some sourness aftertaste. Medium oily palate.

33cl bottle. Hazy dark gold pour with thick, foamy, white head. Lots of lacing. Aromas of spruce, toast and dry leaves. Taste is highly bitter, a bit sour and pretty sweet. There is a nice hoppy flavor and great body, but alcohol and strange sourness pushes through. Low carbonation and slick palate. Aftertaste is weird and sour with sweetish finish. Too much alco even for IIPA. And too sweet, too.

The sweet and soft tastes/aromas compensate the hoppy bitterness. Because of that, the beer is well balanced and separates itself from the standard hip IPAs.

On draft at Sharp Edge Brasserie. Poured burnt orange with creamy off white head. Thick sheets of lace. Flavor is earthy with mild pine and citrus notes. Big malty backbone. Dry finish. No booze evident.

Een zwaar biertje, de schuimkraag zit goed. De kleur ook. Al bij al een goed biertje.

Tap at Beer Exchange- great nose! Really sweet in the front with tons of fruit taste. Don’t like the funky ending taste.

Hazy light amber with a thick creamy head. Citrusy, caramel, light pine, spicy. Very sweet with a moderately bitter and fruity finish, quite some alcohol as well. Average carbonation, smooth on the palate. Good sweet fruity beer.
