Troubadour Magma is an amber colored beer with the bitterness of an American IPA but balanced with the fruitiness of a Belgian Triple. Enjoy the explosion of fruity aromas from the dry-hopping. -- A Triple IPA wich Czech bittering hops and Simcoe for Dry-hopping. Made by De Proef for Drie Musketeers, Ursel.

Bright orange with two fingers of creamy, lacy head that sticks all over the glass. Very carbonated and bubbly like you’d expect from a Belgian. Really strong nose, orange, fresh baked bread, caramel, alcohol, and underlying floral and earthy notes; very complex. Taste starts off quite sweet with light fruit (ie mango, orange), toasted malts and finishes mildly bitter with an herbal hop. Really light on the palate, especially for a double IPA. A good, but not great beer. I’d still prefer Houblon for a Belgian IPA.

Tap@Kompasset. Pours hazy orange golden with lazing offwhite head. Aroma has light malt, biscuit, caramel and a resinous, citrus hoppiness. Taste is malty with biscuit, caramel and hoppy with grass, citrus, resin and apricot notes. Finish is quite dry and bitter with long resinous hoppiness. Good one!

Fruity nose (tropical fruits, blackberry), resin, herb, light caramel, light biscuit, alcohol. Medium dry fresh bitter, light to medium sweet, light warming background. Full body, light heavy, thin oily texture, good carbonation, fruity dry bitter warming lasting finish. Overall, good !

I really like this. It pours with a huge, attractive, pillowy white head. The aroma is a lovely combination of lime and pine. The simcoe aroma hops are very recognisable. The taste is a juicy, satisfying IPA with a very clean and strong lager-like bitterness from the Czech bittering hops. The mouthfeel is quite dense and there is a big hit of alcohol present. Towards the end of my glass I added the yeast from the bottle, which gave a comparatively unpleasant thick and musty character. Don’t add the yeast.

Dark cherry wood brown color with a moderate taupe head. Initial DMS scents slowly fade to reveal some light roasted malt, hints of herbal hops and hint of coffee. Lightly sweet flavors. I somehow get a musty roasted flavor. I think I understand what they were going for, enjoy it for what it is, but I don’t think it quite works for me. An Irish red/brown. Ok. 7/10

Pours a finger and half of head on a hazy straw body. Aroma is floral with dry grains, and a little fruit. Taste is moderate lemon bitterness with lots of fruit flavors. Texture is soft and fizzy. I really nice IPA.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear orange with a small to medium white head and an aroma of grapefruit, herbs, banana, toffee, lemon and something peppery. The taste is slightly sweet with a creamy mouthfeel and a mediumlong bitter hoppy finish. A really nice beer!
