4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
I have brewed my own Belgian-IPA and I always what to try the latest in the evolution of this style to see how I am doing.
11.2 oz bottle, this one is a new creation form this brewery. The bright orange cap has the date 23/02/12, Iíll assume that is its best by date, I want to enjoy the hops so iíll take it now. It is another Belgian Tripel/IPA combo beer.
Pours into my tulip a deep clear amber, the head is big and white and recedes decently slowly, leaving spotted lacing.
The smell is pretty good here, some citrus, tropical, grass, and slight pine arise form the hops, the yeast is there with a punchy spice and the malt backbone adds some depth and sweetness.
The taste is pretty good. It isnít bitter at all. It is a tropical fruit bomb that isnít out of control with the pineapple. The yeast is a bit more subtle in the flavor but provides once again a nice spice. The malt is very sweet and you can feel this one at 9%.
It tastes a ton like my BIPA, definitely some noble hops, I also had some Americans too but i donít taste it here. This is a unique recipe that should be tried by BIPA lovers.

On tap in Moeder Fontainas. Deep amber brown in colour, a little hazy. Nice glass. Awesome floral hoppy aroma. Not hugely American-style bitter or hoppy to taste, but well balanced and tasty. Perhaps didnít quite live up to such an aroma.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bit hazy orange golden pour with pretty big white head. Pine and fresh citrus fruits. Grapefruit rules. Very nice hop aroma. Flavour is sweeter then expected but not overwhelming. Great citrus hops and somehow thereís something glue like, canít help but tasting some chemical notes, but the bitter aftertaste is damn awesome. Full thick body with a carbonation that doesn?t dissapoint. Great belgian DIPA that meets american standards.

Pours a beautiful deep orange, a similar color to the label, with a very persistent head. Aroma is orange & dried apricots. Taste is quite sweet citrus & dried fruits with the citrusy hops cutting through the sweetness nicely. Nice smooth mouthfeel. Quite similar in taste to the Southern Tier Imperial Compass, minus the rose hips.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: NOV 25, 2013 Bottle from biernavi.de. Amber-golden clear to hazy body with big rocky white head. Big cascade tropical and lemon aroma in the nose with some spices, orange, candy and alcohol in the background. Sweet taste, tropical fruityness, spices, some sharpness and malt in the middle, finishes with lemon peel, spices, light astringent, alcohol warming and with a long-lasting dry bitterness. Medium body with average carbonation. Very tasty, well balanced. Belgian elegance meets craft beer cheekiness.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bright amber body with a shinning surface. Inviting aroma of sappy fruits. Citrus fruits, dry apricot and marmalade in flavour with integrated yeasty fruitiness and alcohol. Full bodied. Pleasing, however, a bit heavy to drink

Bottle from The Queens Head London. Very good beer although canít get past the sweetness. Not hop forward enough I guess. However thereís a good funky nose, dry. Somersaults in the mouth... Very good initial sharpness with herbs, then big although not boozy sweetness. Even that evolves through malty to dry then fruity on the end. Solid and innovative. Hides it abv well.

Fresh bottle from Belgium. Thanks Caleb!
The beer is a murky, rusty orange with a gargantuan white head. The aroma brings some spices, particularly coriander. Floral hops and citrus. Perhaps lemon candies soaked in alcohol. Sweet up front and balanced by Belgian yeast and hop bitterness. Alcohol presence is noticeable but delicate. Easy drinking for such a big beer. Very enjoyable, especially such a fresh and vibrant bottle.
