2006 750mL Bottle. Henna and mahogany, this feathers out a roasty, toasty refined aroma, nipped with both Belgian yeast and time. Interesting that they call it a mild stout, because I feel like the malt structure very closely resembles a brown porter. There’s a depth and breadth to the mouthfeel that’s very satisfying: silken, clean, sweet, but balanced. Very decent, especially at 7 years old.

Amber reddish color, nice foam. Aromas of alcohol, raisins, dark fruits and malt. Taste of caramel, raisins, alcohol...with malty sweet aftertaste. Nice beer, but not my style.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a large beige head that fades pretty quickly. Some spotty lacing. Aroma is full raisins, dark fruit, some brown sugar and booze. Flavor is dark fruit, some unsweetened chocolate, light roast, and wood. Medium full and creamy. Finishes fairly dry with some roasted notes. The roasted notes help mitigate the strong dark fruit that I don’t care for.
