Troubadour Obscura is a Belgian Dark Strong Ale with 8,5 % alc. and refermentation in the bottle. Poured in the special glass, Troubadour Obscura has a nice creamy foam head. The beer has a malty character with a nice little roasty flavour. Troubadour Obscura has a mild bitterness, which is a bit stronger in the aftertaste. Troubadour Obscura has a mainly malty aroma. The smell of roasted, burned wood is completed by a light chocolate touch. Troubadour Obscura is produced with 4 different types of malt, hops, yeast and water.

Aroma: Medium dark fruits, prunes, chocolate, dark grains. Medium-light toasty. Appearance: Dark amber body. Large, light-brown head. Fine bubbles, good retention. Lacing. Flavour: Medium dark fruits, prunes. Light spiciness. Medium dry finish with lingering prunes/licorice. Mouthfeel: Medium-full body. High carbonation, creamy. Light alcohol warming. 15.11.2014. Dark brown, big velvety light brown head. Aroma has burnt sugar, plums, plenty of malts, wood. Palate is smooth and velvety. Malty character with plums, slight burnt sugar, slight bitterness. Slightly spicy. Medium sweet. Still somehow a bit thin.

Creamy bitter head. Aroma: roasted malts, light grassy hops. chocolate. Taste is sweet with light to moderate bitterness, fruits, light grassy and zesty notes, black grape peel. Moderate burned notes and the same grassy hops in the aftertaste. Very good beer, a kind of belgian stout with light grassy hops.

Grote fan van de Troubadour bieren. Magma en Westkust behoren tot mijn favorieten. Dus moest deze ook geproefd worden en moet zeggen dat dit alweer een topper is. Donker bier met hele volle en rijke schuimkraag. Vol in de mond, moutig van smaak met toetsen van gebrande koffiebonen en gebrande suiker. Lekkere bittere nasmaak. Misschien net niet zo goed als Magma en Westkust maar toch een zeer lekker bier.

Bottle from Hippo Beers. Hazy brown body with a medium off-white head. Light lacing. Aroma of toffee, raisin and honeycomb. Flavour of toffee, caramel and fig rolls. Medium body with a smooth, creamy texture. Soft fizz. Very sweet and rich.

Dark brown, strong tan lasting head with nice lacing. Aroma is of brown sugar, some toffee and roasted chocolate malt. Taste is medium sweet brown sugar and toffee to chocolate and roasted dryish finish. Medium to full bodied and medium carbonation.
