Pours a dirty water brown, opaque, with a thick tan head. Aroma is prunes and alcohol. Taste is straight up rot gut alcohol and prunes. Apparently I’m not a fan of Belgian Strong Ales. Just not my thing. A lot of raisin in this beer. Not good.

Bottle - Dark Brown in colour. Malty; lightly roasted malts, chocolate, caramel, hint of coffee. Spicy and Yeasty. Fruity; dried fruits. Hoppy; slight hop bitterness. Good malt/fruit/hop balance. Sweet roast malty and fruity throughout with a dry slightly bitter finish. Easy drinking. Decent.

Farlig god. 0,33 flaske, en god stridsrasjon.

ok dark ale. Looks great in the glass with a beige creamy head. Flavor is of burned malts, dark fruit and syrup but a bit weak. Aftertaste is of nice bitter hops. It is good but not very interesting.

Bottle in De Groote Witte Arend. Deep red brown colour, thick head. A dark Belgian ale (why all the controversy trying to label this on the thread, it’s pretty clear what it is?) with expected sweet syrupy malt, chocolate fruit and spice. I actually found this one a bit bland and unexciting, could have done with a bit more balance of hop and/or bitter.

Bottle, deep dark red-brown with a fine clingy beige head, nose is old wine barrels, a little caramel and a touch of peppery hop. Palate is initially sweet with sultanas and burnt toffee, then turning lightly tart with winey notes, and finally notes of chocolate and spicy hops coming through.

On tap Glob Beer Tap Collection, Delray Beach, pours a deep dark brownish black color with a small tan head. Nose is sweet and honey like with syrupy malts. Taste is sweet as well, with rich malty flavor, and heavy toffee. The alcohol hides behind the deep malt and sweetness. Drinks easily and finishes on the sweet malty notes. Quaff Score 7 / 10
