Good stout-like dark ale that has a very creamy touch. Nice creamy head and a full body that has a very nice touch of chocolate taste. Great.

(Drinking date: 11 April 2014) The beer is really dark brown, with a huge frothy head. Nice aroma of wood, smoke, raisins, chocolate and alcohol. Not a really powerfull aroma. But unfortunately also a bit of a metal aroma. The taste is a bit smoky. Not very sweet. A bit bitter. Not really special and not very nice. Little bit sweet. The mouthfeel is good. Soft to medium carbonation and a watery to round mouthfeel. Overall, I would have liked this beer more if it was sweeter. Unfortunately I dont really like the smoky taste. It is a good beer, but for me: this is not my favourite beer. I still give it the total score of 3.4 though.

Sehr fein und ausbalanciert. Etwas Schokolade, dazu ein paar Kekse, hier und da Hefe und ein wenig Weizen. Das Ganze dann noch schn sffig eingebraut und mit einer leicht sen Note zum Abschluss. Fein. Echt fein.

Bottle:Deep reddish-amber coloured with a smaller stable off-white creamy head, presumably hazy; solid dryish toasty and chocolatey nose, some sweet dried fruits underneath; pretty solid sweet-bitter flavour, pretty full-bodied as well; drier bitter-chocolatey finish, balanced by sweet dark malt. A heavy pleasure

Pours out of the bottle in a deep dark brown colour with smooth head and smooth body. Nice aroma of barley and cake. Taste of roasted barley, woods, chocolate, malt, cookies and ripe dark berries. Malty-chocolate finish. Easy and smooth to drink, highly enjoyable.

Bottle from Berts Bierhuis in Utrecht. The beer is dark ruby red and has a large cream colored head, CO2 is excellent. In the aroma different tones of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and vanilla. The taste is very malty, which reminds of a stout beer. Also has te beer a mild bitterness. In the finish this mild bitterness is well noticable for a long time. Excellent brew.

Bottle at home, 330 ml. Poured into a tulip glass. ABV 8..2% Pours a lovely looking deep mahogany brown coloured beer, with ruby shades when the light passes through it. Two fingers of thick beige head, with very good retention, leaving medium lacing around the glass. Aroma has lots of prunes, raisins, liquorice, some metal. Taste of roasted malts, dark fruits, mostly prunes, coffee, raisins, little bit of caramel, the alcohol very well hidden. Fantastic taste, tastes more like a fruity imperial stout. Nice bitterness on the aftertaste, mild, coming from roasted malts. Medium thick on the body, good carbonation, nice feeling on the palate, dry but also a bit sticky. Very good beer, another good one from this brewery.

Pours a dirty water brown, opaque, with a thick tan head. Aroma is prunes and alcohol. Taste is straight up rot gut alcohol and prunes. Apparently Im not a fan of Belgian Strong Ales. Just not my thing. A lot of raisin in this beer. Not good.
