3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Ruby red beer with delicate head on top, but lots of lacing sticking to the glass. Dark chocolate, coffee and hints of grapefruits and/or pines (couldn’t decide because its so hidden underneath). Taste has brown sugar, lots of coffee and in the end there is bitterness but not that much hop flavors. Maybe some pine. Salty licorice pops up after warming up. Low carbonation and quite full bodied. More of an imperial stout than black ipa but great beer anyhow.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This reminds me of Dogfish 90 minute IPA, must use the same toasted malt. Certainly not black in any way, nor does it remind me of any west coast IPAs I can think of. Definitely tasty though. Citrussy, toasty, caramel. A weird one but a good one.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Une bonne dark profonde pour amateurs. Arômes et goûts de café très prononcé et qui s'intensifie au fur et à mesure de la dégustation.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
33cl bottle pours a murky, deep brown with some foamy, lacing, beige head. Nose is vinous, white grape, pine, soap, some bread crust, a little rubber band, some candy sweetness, some dark fruit, fig. Flavor is well blended, malt, sweet brown sugar, some bread crust, then plenty of citrus, blood orange, pine, grapefruit. A bit of rubber too. Sticky finish. At first, I didn’t like this much, but as it warmed I began to enjoy it more.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at Maxs. Sort of fails at nailing the style. Faded, old, cheapish belgo mouthfeel. Malty and thick, the sort of neglected the hops. Only the oily characteristics link it to a Black IPA. OK, but sub par for a Belgian Ale or a Black IPA.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark brown pour with a tanned head. Malty aroma with nuts and toffee. Taste is roasty, bitter coffee and a lasting bitter finish. Balances out the somewhat sweet aftertaste.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle: Poured a deep burgundy color ale with a large off-white foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of dry earthy hops with some dry roasted malt notes. Taste is a mxi between some roasted malt with dry bitter notes with some earth hops with and almost astringent finish. Body is light with great carbonation and no apparent alcohol. A bit too much astringency to be truly enjoyable.
