3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
First of, I am a little surprised, that this is declared a Black IPA, as in my opinion it is more of a gently hopped Stout.
Has a huge, bubbly, creamy beige head, with a dark mahogany, almost black color.
Fantasic multi-layered nose of scorched malts. milk chocolate, plums, brown sugar and floral hops, completing the very complex, inviting smell of this brew.
Caramel and burned toffee with earth and rock sugar build the foundation, with sweeter milk chocolate to enhance this beers complexity. Remarkably bitter coffee beans and floral hops build the counterpart to that first impression, but soon the maltiness takes over again, finishing with a subtle, slick bitterness down the throat. All in all this is definitely on the sweeter side, with a short, but impressive bitter punch, including a slight hop presence in it. Nontheless the balance is very convincing, at it seems easy to slip, while putting together this many different flavors in a beer - very complete in its taste, medium bodied.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
"A dry roasty beer. Pretty big all around with lots of roast, coffee and bitterness. Little to the hops except grapefruit rinds and bitterness. Pretty good beer but there are better. Huge head from a normal pour."

Poured from bottle into a chalice glass
Appearance – Pours a dark brown color bordering on chestnut with a thick and billowy cream colored head. The head has a fantastic level of retention slowly fading to give a fantastic level of lacing on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is heaviest of a sweet mix of dark roasted aromas and dark fruit aromas. Chocolate and coffee are mixed with some cherry and prune producing a dark and sweet smell. Combined with these are aromas of vanilla along with a hop profile of some citrus and some pine.
Taste – The taste begins with a sweet roasted malt and dark fruit flavor mixed with other flavors of a light citrus hop. It tastes much more porter like upfront with the roasted malts being quite strong. The chocolate flavors are rather potent and are mixed with dark fruit of cherry and plum The chocolate and bready flavors seem to dwindle as the taste moves on however, allowing a more coffee flavor to come to the tongue. Along with this transition, other hop flavors beyond the initial citrus greet the tongue. The hops are largely of a pine and some lighter herbal flavors. In the end the flavors leave a roasted sweet coffee and chocolate, lightly hoped more like porter flavor, to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is rather light for one for 9.4% abv with a carbonation level that is on the lighter side. The lower carbonation is great for the more porter like and lighter hoped qualities of the brew while the body being light ,made it dangerously drinkable.
Overall – I was expecting something much more hoppy and much less sweet and chocolaty, but was pleasantly surprised by the smoothness in its drinking as well as the rich flavor profile of the brew. A very nice on to try if you get the chance.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a dark brown and is unlike the black appearance of most black IPAs. Nice light tan head which dissipates quickly. Aroma is sweet with vanilla, milk chocolate and molasses. Some figs also present. The palate is silky smooth and medium carbonation. The taste is a rich combination of sweet vanilla upfront which is taken over by a lovely roasted coffee bitterness. Really interesting take on this style and I was pleasantly surprised.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours opaque dark brown with a frothy 2 finger khaki head. The aroma is quite roasty, toffee, coffee, chocolate, with a hint of floral hops but not really any citrus but quite inviting nonetheless. Taste is initially sweet with chocolate, burnt caramel, plums, vanilla bean which then receives some grapefuit zest bitterness to cut through some of the sweetness. Medium bodied. Not much sign at all of the 9.2% ABV. Black IPAs aren?t normally my favourite style but this leans more towards an imperial stout and was highly enjoyable.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Barwa: ciemno brązowa, pod światło miedziana, klarowna na początku, potem bardziej zmętniona. Piana beżowa, drobno pęcherzykowa, gęsta i obfita, ładnie oblepiająca szkło.
Aromat: ciemne słody, czekolada, lekka paloność oraz chmiel owocowo - ziołowy i niewielka nuta alkoholowa. Dość spójny, choć stonowany.
Smak: pełny, początkowo słodki, z bardziej wytrawnymi akcentami. Czekolada, lekka palność i kawa oraz wyraźnie zaznaczona goryczka, minimalnie zalegająca końcówka, nieco alkoholowa i rozgrzewająca.
Piwo z browaru The Muskeeters warzone w De Proef. Belgijskie, ciemne IPA w wersji imperialnej.
