Poured into a Unibroue snifter black with thick creamy tan head. Scent of roasted malt is strong. Taste reflects the aroma. Roasted toasted malt with a slight amount of dark fruit & definite coffee. Bitter hops finish slight smoke. Nicely carbonated & an overall great feel to the mouth. More dry than I like in a black IPA but the flavor is definitely there.

Tap at Cafe Rose Red, Brugge, Belgium. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a healthy beige head on top. Roasty, malty, hoppy aroma. Tastes roasty, malty, hoppy, slight dark fruit, some coffee. Bloody good Black IPA from Belgium.

Deep grain on nose, pours a dark brown. Hoppy bitterness against solid dark malty chocolate background. Short, sharp palate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap@ leijuva lahna. Dark brown, thick white head. Fruity, hoppy, citrusy aroma, fresh. Lovely. Flavor has roastedness, citrus, hops, nutty notes. Bitter, dry hoppy finish. Incredible. Fresh and very tasty.

Bottle. Pours reddish brown with a beautiful story lasting head and great lace. Aroma is heavy full rich earthy mushroom roasty malt, Belgian yeast. Flavor is very nice bitter chocolate, soft toasty malt. Feel is very soft, full, and light. Lovely take on the black IPA. I would rather have one of these than almost any American BIPA.

Lots of chocolate and coffee, hoppy finish. It is more "black" than "IPA", but I like black. Great beer to finish a tasting session.

Ruby red beer with delicate head on top, but lots of lacing sticking to the glass. Dark chocolate, coffee and hints of grapefruits and/or pines (couldn’t decide because its so hidden underneath). Taste has brown sugar, lots of coffee and in the end there is bitterness but not that much hop flavors. Maybe some pine. Salty licorice pops up after warming up. Low carbonation and quite full bodied. More of an imperial stout than black ipa but great beer anyhow.

This reminds me of Dogfish 90 minute IPA, must use the same toasted malt. Certainly not black in any way, nor does it remind me of any west coast IPAs I can think of. Definitely tasty though. Citrussy, toasty, caramel. A weird one but a good one.
