Dark Arts is undoubtedly Trouble Brewing’s biere de resistance. Pouring a dark, borderline black colour, with a thin, light brown head, Dark Arts goes down a treat, with a coffee-like aroma and a delicately smooth roasted, chocolately taste. Highly recommended.

Cask at Porterhouse Cork. I’ve had it on draught and bottle before but it just doesn’t compare. Pours a deep black with a thick foamy off-white head. Smells of smoked coffee, tastes smokey with a nice light sweetness, strong coffee and dark chocolate with vanilla overtones. Quite a heavy body, almost closer to a dry stout than a porter. No bitter aftertaste, just leaves a lingering sweetness that leaves you wanting a second (to which I duly obliged). Jaw-droppingly good and very close to perfection.

Bathroom etiquette - Piss really hard at the urinal so it goes all over you and the person you are standing next to.

Bottle at parents house, from Abbots Ale House Bottle Shop - thanks to the old man, 27/01/13.
Very dark mahogony brown with reddish hues and a tight tan cap that retains well.
Nose carries roast malt, milk chocolate, quite a soapy dose.
Taste comprises roast malt, dark fruits, chocolate, light molasses, tobacco.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry finish.
Ok stuff.

This is a porter which as the name suggests should be served serv at 8 degrees. Head is whisky and doesn’t stay too long, aroma cold can be minimal. But as expected. Initial taste is off dark roast, some coffee, chocolate bur mostly a woody bark taste. Finish si quick as the body is light as a porter should be. I feel like his beer is almost there, typical of a Brewery afraid to break the mould and make the beer they want to drink themselves rather than a beer they hope many others would drink
