It smells malty and fruity. Nearly no head, the body is black. The taste is sweet and a little bit strange, hard to define. The body is light to medium strong, a little bit creamy with a lively carbonation.

Keg @ The Brew Dock, Dublin
Very dark brown, dark caramel edges, thin tan head
Aroma of soft roast, dark toasted malts, some bitter hop
Taste of roasted malts, dark sweet malts, some bitter hops in there, touch of molasses
Palate - Medium carb and body, bit too fizzy, Finish of dark smooth roasted malts
Overall - Must re-rate on cask or bottle...I don’t think keg dispense really suits this beer

Dark, looks like a Guinness. Sweet aroma, buttery. Taste is also dominated by a sweet butteryness and a touch of smoke. Maybe some vanilla.

Opaque brownish-black pour with a medium foamy tan head that recedes steadily. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt and chocolate. Light-bodied with a roasty character and flavors of chocolate malt, coffee and a touch of vanilla. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

The head is robust, the body dark red almost black. It smells roasty, coffee, a bit creamy, aromatic. The taste is roasty, coffee, a bit sweet-coffee, less chocolate, tasty. Good basis, but it could be still more intensive. 12/12/11/12/-/12

Dark Arts is undoubtedly Trouble Brewing’s biere de resistance. Pouring a dark, borderline black colour, with a thin, light brown head, Dark Arts goes down a treat, with a coffee-like aroma and a delicately smooth roasted, chocolately taste. Highly recommended.
