3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Vermont Brewers Fest ’07. Deep amber beer. Toasted malt, sweet dried fruit, plums/prunes and a bit of gingery spiciness as well. More spice on the palate with a light cherry fruitiness coming to the fore. Good balance with a hint of spicy hops on the back. A nice beer.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear copper-brown with a very small off-white head. Nose is very barley malt swimming in caramel. Taste is mainly sweet malt (thick caramel, toffee, barley) with some slight fruity notes. No hops in there. Long caramel finish. Tasty. Not very successful as a barley wine but this is a very good beer when ignoring the style attempt. One of the best beer I had at the Vermont Brewers fest 2006. Boneyard… gives a whole new meaning to “having a cold one”.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sample at the VTBrewfest - Poured a dark amber in color with a light tan head and some lacing. Aroma was of spicy hops, bready yeast and dark fruit. Flavor was not as strongly hopped as most beers of this type, but it was enjoyable none the less. The aroma seemed to carry through into the flavor profile... much of the same some hops, dark fruit and balanced with some maltiness. Nice job... I’ll seek this one out again.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sampled at the Vermont Brewers Fest 2005. Clear amber color with a ring of white lace. Nice aroma of malt, fruits, caramel and alcohol. Interesting flavor of malt, fruits, caramel and alcohol. The body is medium, the texture smooth and creamy and the carbonation level is low. Interesting, an american barley wine that isn’t strongly hopped.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
I was really impressed with the Barleywine made by this small brewer. This is one of the better beers you’ll find in northern Vermont.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma includes notes of raisins and plums with a spicy maltiness and some pleasant dough-like yeast. Medium brown and hazy with a decent tan head that recedes to a thick ring and sticks to the glass. Fruitiness is subsumed with strong malty flavours. Very smooth and fairly full-bodied without overwhelming. On tap at the Vermont Brewers Festival.
