Hoppin’ Mad Trout is brewed as an India Pale Ale. It has a smooth, toasted malt flavor dominated by hops. A distinct flowery aroma and a clean, dry finish round out this ale.

UPDATED: OCT 2, 2005 Pretty boring, for what I expected (A DECENT IPA). This was kind of a lame, fizzy, watered down apple juice.

Bottle. Label aside, this is a good clean beer. IPA?! huh? Lacks the key characteristics of the style. No strong hop flavor, not very malty, very light in color. Refreshing beer, Yes. IPA, No.

This is not an IPA. Don’t let the name fool you. Tastes more like a bland lager. Pours yellow.

And why is the trout "hoppin mad"? Becasue some one tried to pass this off as an IPA. This is really bland. No thank you.

ummm not good. Clear golden with white head. Aroma gives a faint hint of malt and hops. Taste is very watery and grainy with some caramel and very little hoppage. Very watery on the palate. Uninspired.

IPAs are supposed to have hops, right? I mean, at least one? Bueller? This is just a bland melange of fruits and breadiness, with absolutely nothing even vaguely resembling hoppiness to it. Stale malts, no hops. It’s offensive in its blandness.

Bottle: Pale yellow color with almost zero white head. Aroma has a strange spicy corriander/clove scent with a bit of bread. Taste like spicy yeast, grass, old hops, grapes. Watery and thin.

If I were to rate this to style it would be a 0.5. Cloudy golden orange body. Bready grainy malt aroma. Light aroma all around. Flavor is also light grainy. Apparently they forgot to add the hops to this here IPA. Very watery, slimy body.

bottle. Poured cloudy orange with a nice head. Aroma of spicy clove, and mellow citrus. Taste is sweet malty with biscuit flavors. Also getting some grainy maltiness and light toast. Hoppy? hell no. Good? Hell yeah.
