1.5 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 3/20 dirtymike (2016) - Manchester, New Hampshire, USA - FEB 7, 2004
Hazy orange color with a large white head.Plastic hop aroma, mild hop charcater if you want to call it that, that leads into a nutty charcater??? This brewery is in shambles.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 argo0 (10419) - Washington DC, USA - DEC 31, 2003
Hazy golden body with an off-white head that explodes out of the bottle. Aroma is lemon, light flowery. Taste is medium sweet, floral, some lemon tartness. Finishes lemon. Watery medium body. They can call it an IPA all they want, but it doesn't seem like one to me.
2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 MaBeer1972 (1148) - Taunton, Massachusetts, USA - JUL 12, 2003
Nobody told me this was an IPA. Hard to figure what it was by the name. Fizzy head goes to nothing fast. Cloudy, unfiltered appearance. Light amber. A little on the spicy side but not overly hoppy. Drinkable, but nothing to write home about.
0.6 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20 1more4dessert (294) - Upstate, New York, USA - JUL 6, 2003
UPDATED: JUL 21, 2003 re-Re-rate, 3rd bottle flushed How many of you have had to chuck 5/6ths of a 6-pack. This tastes like they bottled the rinsate from washing out the tanks. How many do I have to rate before I qualify for the drain pour (I suggest toilet flush) category. 2nd bottle even worse, I can tell difference - Busch is better. In a blind taste test I don't know if I could differentiate this from Busch. My problem is that I have 5 more at 1.25 a pop to get rid of.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 JahNoth (1039) - Rochester, New York, USA - JUL 5, 2003
Hoppy aroma, decent fuggles? hop flavor with decent malt texture. Litte hop aftertaste for an IPA. Decent.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 OldGrowth (2138) - North Carolina, USA - JUN 13, 2003
Doughy yeasty nose. Pale orange yellow color. Funny flavor, toasty metallic light molasses. Thin and fizzy finish. Not that enjoyable. Now I'm hoppin mad, I've got 3 left in the fridge.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 goz (359) - Chelmsford, Massachusetts, USA - JUN 12, 2003
Pour is mid-amber, medium white head that quickly diminishes, but leaves decent lacing. Aroma is malty, with light chocolate being the main standout. Flavor is mixed with light chocolate and other various mild malt flavors, ends with minimal hop presence. Body is medium. Not all the impressive to me.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 boto (1665) - Granby, Connecticut, USA - MAR 27, 2003
Bottled version. Somewhat of a darker golden color, but cloudy. Some head, but didn't stay long. A little fruit in the nose, but where are the hops??? A malty taste to it, but where are the hops??? The beer is fairly smooth to drink, but I don't know how it is classified as an IPA. More of a summer day beer.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 ToadMan (558) - Washington, Washington DC, USA - MAR 5, 2003
Had it on tap, godlen amber color with very nice lace. Very mild hoppy aroma with slight fruit tones. Starts off somewhat creamy and a little malty and quickly turns to a slightly hoppy somewhat upleasant tinge. Very lacking on hops for an IPA, very lacking on flavor for a beer. Leaves a mettalic/skunky/slightly dry fininish. Wont be gettin this one again.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Volgon (2761) - Manchester, New Hampshire, USA - DEC 25, 2002
UPDATED: FEB 6, 2004 Pours hazy orange with a huge dense and quickly diminishing head. Fake easty aroma, fizzy palate. Not really bitter at all. Hardly an IPA and pretty bland.
