12oz bottle. Pours a orangish honey color with a small whitish head. Aroma is sweet malt with a bisquity, doughy background. The taste is a chewy sweet malt with some floral and earthy flavors, and a touch of honey in the end. Mouthfeel is light and the flavors are well balanced, with a metalic tinge in the aftertaste.

Pours a clear amber color with no head. Aroma of caramel and grain with caramel, fruit, and a touch of nuts. Kind of a nice, easy drinking beer.

June 4, 2011; 12 oz. bottle from a BOTM gift package. The pour is red (no surprise there!); small head, some lacing; aroma of overripe fruit & malts. A vaguely cidery taste falls away quickly to water -- wish there were some hops to round it out a bit more & leave a better impression on the palate.

Aroma is caramel, malt. Appearance is red, clear, one finger head dissipates to thin ring. Taste is right on the money, but too sweet. This brew has low hops and medium malt. The brew is too malty and could use some extra bittering hops to balance out the flavor. Palate is clean, malty, and malty finish. Right on style! Just needs a little bit more hops..

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear dark amber body with a small fizzy off-white head. The nose is quite fruity with a touch of toasted malt and some very light hops. The flavor is a bit odd, a little sweet, some weak husky maltiness, and a light hazelnut note on the finish. Very minimal hopping. Lighter bodied and a touch watery with soft gentle carbonation. Overall a pretty bland and forgettable beer.

Pours deep amber into a Sam glass. Off-white head recedes to hug rim. Sour aromas. Butterscotch and marshmallow upfront turning sour in the lasting finish.

A fine red ale here. Had a pint at Sweetwater in Burlington. Pours a charming light, ruby and slightly hazy hue with very little head. Taste is nicely balanced between the hops and malts. Would make a lovely session beer.

The appearance is a cloudy, hazy dark red. Light passes through, but lots of tiny specks of sediment. Kinda cool-lookin’. Bitter malts in the smell, tinged with a sweet caramel. A surprising amount of toffee and mocha coffee. Cinnamon too, like a cola or winter ale. The malts give a bittersweet taste, like a Scotch ale. Bitter and dry like a German beer, but also sweet toffee, cinnamon. Still, more like a Scottish ale than an amber. The mouth is thick and dry. Not chalky but you can feel the sediment in the swallow. Overall, it’s like a rich Scotch ale mixed with just a kiss of amber malt. Good and different.
