Lightly malty. Struck me as little timid.

(12oz bottle) Lightly hazed mahogany body flecked with yeasties, topped by a medium off-white head that diminishes fairly repidly. Aroma is moderately sweet, chocolate/caramel, coffee/roast, some cherry. Taste is moderately sweet, chocolate, cherry, some roast/coffee, light cola, seltzer. Light-medium body, light stickiness.

Gorgeous deep brown, nearly opaque body with just a hint of red/orange peeking through on the edges; decent head. Then the flavor: strongly medicinal, alcoholic, little sweetness. I have the feeling I had a bad bottle, but I haven’t been thrilled with this brewer, so am I gonna give it a second chance?

Raisins, plums and cookie dough yeast in the aroma. Clear, dark amber with tan head that diminishes to ring. Dark fruit esters atop a malty palate with a somewhat chalky finish. A bit light in body for style. On tap at the Vermont Brewers Festival.

Darky with a small head. Nutty with hints of raisins and bread. Not bad, but nt exactly a scottish ale.
