COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The American cousin of our ESB. This pale ale was originally brewed in 19th century England to survive the long ocean voyages to their troops stationed in India – hence the name India Pale Ale. To keep the beer from spoiling during these four- to six-month odysseys, they produced a stronger, more generously hopped ale. Our creamy IPA emphasizes traditional West Coast Chinook and Cascade hops to yield a hophead’s delight of a brew: just-right complexity that’s not too sweet – or over-the-top with hops.

Please note that on my older reviews I used a 100 point scale. To make up for any scoring discrepancies, all palate and apearance scored are assigned a neutralized 3/5.

Undated notes: I had this one at the restaurant. It tasted nice and hoppy with some sweetness to it. Nice bitterness!

This beer is trule a hopheads favorite brew. Loved it. While it wasn’t extremely hoppy, it was just enough to make the hophead in me more than satisfied. I noticed a little pine, and a real sweet aroma. A natural floral taste. Pours a reddish copper body, little head. Looking forward to trying this again.

Very nice and clean bitterness in flavor. Well balanced between the bitterness from the hops and the sweetness from the malt.

Draught: Glad to see the brewery still up and running while they get someone elst to try and run the restaurant side. The beer is a rich, copper color. A bit of head to it. Nice hoppy nose, with a hint of hops. Full taste of malts and hop bitterness. A well balanced brew.

NERAX '03: Cloudy dark orange color, sweet pine/citrus hops in the nose, full bodied. Got better as it warmed up a bit.

NERAX 2003 : Pours a deep amber, good size soapy bubbly looking white head, diminishes to a thin film and leaves small rings of lace. Aroma is dominated with floral piny hops. Flavor has some caramel, but is dominated by the piny hops. Smooth, medium body, easy drinking, and very quaffable.

Good West coast IPA.Solid offering, good appearance, great aroma(it had been just out on tap),medium body, far from watered down but full enough to fill your palate.

The only beer from this brewpub I would recommend after my first (probably last) visit. Medium head, orange, very clear; clean malty nose with hints of grapefruit. Fruity, fresh, clean and hoppy throughout, long lasting finish. Well-balanced, tasty, just not memorable.
