July 29, 2012 - Toronto Festival Of Beers. Draught. QuickTick time. Clear and bright oily looking gold with a huge fizzy/foamy lasting white head. Aroma of fresh cereal grain, oily, and a little surprising dry herbal bitterness - hate to say, but I didn’t find that bitterness all that pleasant (6-). Taste is a little sweet, almost sugary, a touch harsh. Light body, mild carbonation, finishes quickly, leaves just a slightly harsh sugary aftertaste - at least it wasn’t skunky.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Metalchopz (1785) - Cantley, Quebec, CANADA - APR 15, 2012
Originally rated May 2004 (when it was simply called "True North Lager" and there was a big white bear on the case. Poured a golden colour to create a quick lasting head. Lots of carbonation, and a sweet malt nose. Light flavour with a slight bitter finish. Refreshing.

Tap at Squirly’s. Pale golden pour with a white head. The aroma is bland and fairly regular. Perhaps some DMS and light hops. It’s a bit sweet as well. Pretty horrid actually. These guys make so much good beer - why are they making this?

Bright yellow colour. A basic mouthfeel. A little cheesy. Not a great lager, and maybe as good as a macro.

bottle. slightly hazy golden pour with large white head. Aroma is malty, lightly acidic, faintly hoppy, and honey. Flavor is sweet honey malt with a faintly spicy flavor. Solid but nothing too crazy.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 fredthecat (278) - CANADA - SEP 28, 2009
pours amber with a small head that fades to a nice lace, smell is strawberry, toffee/caramel. taste is very sweet for a lager, a little bit of an artificial sweet taste at the end, almost mint leafy aftertaste that does last, good lager body refreshing feeling. pretty good, keeping in mind it is inbetween dollar beer and premium beer prices for a pack
1.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 DerWeg (1402) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 22, 2009
Bottle from brewery fridge yesterday. Gold blonde with dense white cap. Smell yeast and sweet cereal grain. Bile or vomit sharp note. Taste is sweet with unfortunate peanut butter flavors, over some clashing sweet malts and rusty dirty flavors. PEANUT??
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 vyvvy (3287) - Florissant, Missouri, USA - MAY 25, 2009
Thanks to xmarcnolanx for sharing this one with me. Pours clear golden / blond with a thin bubbly translucent head. The aroma has diacetyl, must, minimally toasted malt and veggies. Medium smooth body with a touch of harshness and light carbontion. The flavor starts spicy with hops and clean malt, but then green veggies hit and linger a lot. I don’t know if it is age, but this sample wasn’t very good.
