The_Jester (444), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Apr 29, 2008 341 mL bottle. Orange-copper beer with a small beige head - fades to a thick ring after a minute or two. I’m honestly not sure that I could add a lot to the "commercial description" - it’s just about bang on. This is a fresh, malty beer with a dryish bittler finish. Good summer beer.
Beer Snob (344), Ontario, Canada Apr 28, 2008 Copper - obviously - in colour with a minor head. Nice malty aroma with some nuttiness. Tasty - some sweet maltiness that turned into a dark chocolate bitterness. Finished with a hint of hops.
Nicely complex and fully recommended. mabel (1246), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 14, 2007 [491-20070810] Tap @ TFOB (Toronto, ON). Malty grain aroma. Clear, amber brown body with a medium-lasting foamy off-white head. Hoppy malt flavour is a little bitter. Medium body has light astringency. Nice starter for the festival, an interesting blend. frankenkitty (1789), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA Jul 13, 2007 Coppery/golden under a sandy film. Aroma is a gentle cacaphony of pale & dark malts alongside bready yeasts. Concentrated malts... like LME extracts... full, and... malty. A little thin on flavor and palate, but a great rendition of an Alt with sweet and roasty malts balanced by an earthen bitterness. I could drink this all day. A step down from Sticke on the palate, but the aroma and flavor are all there.
