An ultra-premium Bavarian-style wheat beer at 5% alc./vol. Yellow colour with slight, natural wheat beer haze. Subtle aromas of yeast and delicate ripe banana. Slightly tart and mildly malty with a perfect balance between flavours of clove and banana. Silky mouthfeel. Wonderfully refreshing and thirst quenching. Enjoy with fruit salad, seafood and shellfish, egg dishes, smoked meats, lemon and other fruit pies and cakes, and edam and swiss cheeses

341ml bottle. Pours a clear, pale blonde with a white, one finger head. Aroma has notes of bananas, citrus fruits, yeast, and a slight sugary sweetness. Taste is balanced. Starts out a touch sweet then ends with some bitterness, a hint of peppery spice, and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.Light and refreshing with a prickly carbonation on the tongue. Overall this is tasty. A good amount of aroma and flavour and decent mouth feel. Might get again if I’m down at Magnotta again. Cheers!

Deep yellow pour. The nose is a little bit chewy and some distinct DMS. Fairly sugary and sulphury. Meh. Light spice and some dirty banana. Light bodied.

341 ml bottle in 6-pack from TBS, served cold in a tulip glass.

App.: Hazy bright golden with a small white head. Aroma: A good deal of wheat and wet hay backed by some decent banana esters, a touch of clove, sort of a clean, mineral note, biscuits, I’m pretty sure I’m picking a little DMS, unfortunately. Overall, pretty nice. Palate: Medium+ body, fairly full, fine effervescence which is mainly creamy with a few sharp bubbles. Flav.: Follows the nose well, there’s wheat, cereal, banana, a little clove, I have to dig for signs of DMS, but they are there, minerals, a very slight funk; dry with minimal bitterness and a finish that starts with biscuits and ends with bananas.

Not perfect, but certainly quite competent.

Funky aroma and taste, yeasty, and although not a great example of the style I found this unfiltered beer interesting and one of the better of the Magnotta line. Yellow and obvious yeasty appearance. Average mouthfeel, decent drinkability.

Beershine (5195) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - OCT 2, 2008
Draught @ One Duke. Hazed, pale yellow with 1/4 inch thick white head. Not served in proper glassware :-( Mellow hefe aroma. Light citrus, some ginger ale, not a lot of banana here but comes out a lot in the flavor. Spritzy mouthfeel but slight stickiness and thinness finish. Lots of sweet banana, especially in the beginning of palate. Rounds out to almost lime-accented end.

I have only had this beer on tap. Apart from Cheval Blanc microbrewery’s wheat beer, sadly only available in Quebec, this is the (second) best white beer I have had which is brewed in Canada. I could say that "blanche de chambly" pales in comparison, but I personally find the latter perfumy and undrinkable. So, Wunder Weisse- Yeasty? Yes! Lemon? Mais oui! Isn’t that necessary? BUT Banana? That’s stretching the imagination, I’d say. Wunder Weisse is in my estimation a fantastic Canadian beer. Only the Cheval Blanc brewery beats it.
