5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
I have only had this beer on tap. Apart from Cheval Blanc microbrewery’s wheat beer, sadly only available in Quebec, this is the (second) best white beer I have had which is brewed in Canada. I could say that "blanche de chambly" pales in comparison, but I personally find the latter perfumy and undrinkable. So, Wunder Weisse- Yeasty? Yes! Lemon? Mais oui! Isn’t that necessary? BUT Banana? That’s stretching the imagination, I’d say. Wunder Weisse is in my estimation a fantastic Canadian beer. Only the Cheval Blanc brewery beats it.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JUL 30, 2003 A very good weissbier. It finds good balance with esters (banana) and phenolics (cloves). Sometimes the clove character predominates a little more but this falls within my own personal preferences. I found it to be an excellent beer for the style. It is a light refreshing beer with accents in all the right places and would likely be seen as a gem if it weren't for being made in the same vecinity as Denison's.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: FEB 9, 2006 rerate: beautiful cloudy golden appearance. aroma of wheaty clovey banananess. taste is much the same. considerably better than my previous experience. previous: Thin rocky head. cloudy pale yellow. tastes a little thin for a hefeweizen. not bad, but it doesnt compare to some of the better versions. 6/3/6/3/12

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Lovely banana aroma. Big white head. Superb drink ability, maybe slightly too sweet to be great but well made overall.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cloudy yellow, pineapple juice color - lacking the head. The nose is robust, fruity with banana, citrus and bubblegum stuff happening. The body is quite what I expected, the fruit, malt and yeast tastes there. Nice, refreshing...tame, but good.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
The new 6-pack release from LCBO, my case less than 4 weeks old..<P>
The aroma’s a bit mild. On the scale of HW beer this one leans to the side of ’refreshing’ rather than ’nourishing.’ So the sweetness and fruitiness are restrained, but it’s there - this is a good flavorful HW. It has a wonderful orangey-gold colour, surprisingly tame head, little sediment (partially filtered?) This Magnotta has me going to the fridge for a second one, and the tart/sweet balance really grows on me. A fair if not entirely equal contender to Denison’s - perhaps a respectable alternative.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sampled at the C’est what spring festival. All the elements of a good wheat beer were present and at the time seemed just as good as Chambly. Although I had a few too many when I tried this, I did enjoy it.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Slight banana nose and cloudy yellow one expects from this type of beer. Not particularly strong tasting but refreshing. A good beer for a hot day.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: AUG 11, 2008 2008=08-10. Cloudy pastel yellow, modest white head and lacing. (3+) Modest aroma of yeasty citrus. Flavour is similar to the aroma, mild yeast and touches of citrus, ends with a tart wheaty zip in the finish. Average plus palate. Simple but serviceable wheat beer. 7/4/7/3/13 - 3.4
2003-06-13. The Wunder Weisse was also excellent, but had more clove flavour than Denison’s. I prefer the Denison’s as I find it leans slightly more towards the fruity side of the equation with just enough clove. I believe that is a result of the yeast strains used but I could be wrong. 8/3/6/4/13 - 3.4 St. Lawrence Market Craft Beer Show.
