mkobes (2103), paramus, New Jersey, USA Sep 23, 2007 Bottle. Poured into a Brooklyn Weisse beer glass. Deep clear golden in color with a nice fluffy white head. Citrusy malty hoppy aroma. Orange and grassy hop notes. Malty hoppy flavor. Citrusy notes. Crisp and refreshing. Finish is bitter. Medium bodied. Nice beer. colts9016 (198), Idaho, USA Sep 6, 2007 Slightly Skunky smell with corn, wheat and yeast. There seems to be a bit of citrus, probably the hops. The color is cloudy golden yellow with a thin white head. The taste is citrus with hints of wheat and corn. The mouthfeel is a medium body with a tainting of bitterness at the finish. I could drink this beer all night. bhensonb (4187), Woodland, California, USA Sep 4, 2007 U.S. bottle from World Market in Berkeley. Skunk arose as the cap lifted. The pour lost nearly all the skunk; maybe all. Light caramel malt aroma (very light) with some noble hop. Good start. Medium in body, moderate, just a bit too harsh for creamy, carbonation. The flavor is perhaps pale malt sweet, but here is some grassy, floral hoppiness. The finish is fairly dry, a bit tingly, with a nice level of bitterness. Good representative of the style, which seems to be maltier and less crisp than Bohemian Pilsner. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA Sep 1, 2007 Fresh bottle from the brewery. Great looking beer when poured in an EKU glass, with a large white head and clear straw yellow color. Nice malty aroma. Flavor has a fresh grain flavor, nice and dry. This beer is so freakin crisp, you can shave with it. This brew is just a bit too cold, so make sure you warm it up a bit. Really delicious. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Updated: Jul 19, 2009

pintsize (1042), Austin, Texas, USA Aug 21, 2007 Light golden color and short-lived head. Nice aroma for a pilsner - very developed. As it warms, the smell of yeast becomes more prominent. It is great on the palate with just the right amount of carbonation. Really crisp taste. It isn’t too complex or busy. BeerBelcher (930), Columbus, Ohio, USA Aug 17, 2007 This beer really struck me as past-its-prime Pilsner Urquell. It had a Saz-hops character that I associate with Pilsner Urquell and Czechvar, but had a stale cardboard-iness that was far from impressive.
I had this beer on tap at The ’Knick restaurant by the lake in Milwaukee. It came in branded glassware, which reminded me of a straight-walled vase and seemed poorly suited for its purpose. But it didn’t look like other beer glasses, so I guess from that perspective it was doing its job.
Color was yellow, not quite gold, and not brilliantly sparkling the way the beers mentioned above appear. It had a pleasant paile white head. Aroms was a Saz-ish "European lager" smell. Flavor was like I described about; cardboard-y past-its-prime Pilsner Urquell. This beer wasn’t skunky, but it was stale.
Mouthfeel was not impressive.
All-in-all this beer was OK, but not especially commendable. gws57 (1131), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA Aug 17, 2007 Had this one on draught in St. Charles, Illinois. Hazy yellow pour with a medium white head, citrusy nose of lemongrass, slightly sweet and balanced with a bit of that citrus again, finishes plain like all pilseners. I just don’t get what’s so good about this style.
