Green 12 oz bottle. Pours a pale yellow with a foamy white head. Nose is grassy, skunk. Flavor is corn, cardboard, paper, metal. Fizzy mouthfeel. Ugh.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear, bright, heavily effervescent yellow color; fluffy white head with good retention and mixed-bubbled lacing. Slight amount of skunky character in the nose, but underneath is a pleasant floral and herbal bitterness and a nice dry core; I think would be quite exceptional in a non-idiotic bottling. Lively carbonation; again, a light skunking, slightly overzealous bubbles, but the core is nicely dry, the herbal notes and mineral hop presence follow through; a very nice pilsener that fails by its green bottle and poor carbonation control; which is sad, because there’s a really great beer here otherwise. With time, the skunk fades and the bubbles (with some vigorous swirling) go back where they came from; deservedly underappreciated? We’re close to the source, and I’m hoping to try this on tap if I can find it somewhere. Medium finish of basic toastiness and sugar; touches of cardboard; nicely dry, with a touch of mineral zestiness; bit o’ skunk.

Green bottle...Uh oh. Pours with a pale yellow body and a fluffy white head. Grassy, skunky lightstruckness, grainy, bread. Definitely not the worst pilsner I have smelled from a green bottle. Taste is harsh, metallic, light struck, bitter. Corn and bready notes. Thin and violently fizzy. Not good. Why green bottles?

Pour a yellow with a green twinge. Small light white head. Smells lightly of citrus. Taste is of grain with a even bitter sweet flavor. Soft feel and moderate carbonation.

Do I really need to describe the skunky pils aromas and flavors? Do I need to tell you that it has a grainy flavor with some stinky hops? Oh shit, I guess I just did.

Aroma says it all. Just like too many other beers that smell awful and deliver the same taste.

UPDATED: SEP 22, 2009 Bottle.
Though from Bottleworks where it was doubtless handled well, I’m not sure this was the freshest. Some skunk the aroma detracting from what could otherwise be a quite nice coupling of grainy and gently sweet malt with a dry assertive close.

Boy does this hit the spot right now. Light but with a bit of spice to it and a good dryness. Great beer after a hot day!
