SDBEERMAN (4), Arizona, USA does not count Jun 18, 2006 Beer on tap is fantastic - I also agree that this is better beer on tap - but what beer really isn’t?
Sampled today at Portland’s Restaurant in Phoenix - unbelievably good! Served in tall thin logo glass, beer was sharp in presentation with nice lace through my drink. Tight bubble head and crystal clear golden pilsner was terrific. Hop on draft is subtle but crisp on the finish with a smooth malt taste.
Must now try on in the bottle to see what all the hub-bub is about. Ughsmash (3983), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Jun 14, 2006 On tap at The Nomad. Poureed a clear straw yellow with a well-retained cap of white head. Nose was crisp and clean with sweet pils malts, a touch of cereal, and grassy, herbal, and floral hoppage. Flavor found just about the same stuff.. add a touch of honey sweetness. Malts were smooth across the middle, bitterness was well-placed, and the finish was crisp and refreshing. I enjoyed it... sounds like this one holds up much better on draught. jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Jun 11, 2006 12oz bottle-pours a white head with pale yellow color. Aroma is funky, grassy, grain. Taste follows with back up hops. DrBayern (1135), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA Jun 4, 2006 Smallish white head over a crystal clear pale yellow pour, giving off floral aromas supported by some grass and citrus. LIght and clean on the palate with alively carbonation. Flavor is dominated by citrus and floral hops with very little malt character. Finishes with a light metallic bitterness. eaglefan538 (2355), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Jun 2, 2006 Just another average ordinary pilsner (mine too, brewed in CA). Only sampled (thankfully didn’t have to buy a bottle for this one) a few ounces at the local liquor store, so the appearance was yellow (not sure what the head woudl have looked like). Flavor was grassy, grassy, and grassy. I’m not a fan of all the grass in these pilsners. entertheiceman (242), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA May 4, 2006 Wow, this is extremely pale, I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a more pitiful pour. Nice grassy aroma, though. Thin in the mouth with an unappealing bitter taste. vanvenlo (794), Glen Iris, Australia May 1, 2006 21 Mar 2006 - Light sweet and hop aroma. Clear yellow colour, low head and suds lacing. Perfume floral hop flavour. Thin hoppy finish. frankenkitty (1900), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA Apr 20, 2006 A tremendous white head fills my footed pilsner glass and settles slow and rocky to form a scummy film over a pale yellow body frought with effervescence. Green-bottle skunkiness makes a bad first impression. Additional grasses and oregano chime in later with light, sweet floral notes. A thickness of body surprises me given its color, maintaining a solid presence before finishing crisp. Flavor finds bitter hopping atop light malt sweetness, finishing bitter but lingering sour. I bought Trumer after a friend of mine at work showed me a wire story about this beer winning gold at the ’06 World Beer Cup. I agree that it is a very good pils which is undoubtedly much better on draught.
