3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 DrnkMcDermott (2621) - Downers Grove, Illinois, USA - SEP 18, 2005UPDATED: AUG 10, 2006 12 oz. Bottle, Apr 16, 2006 This is quite clearly labeled as being produced at the Berkeley brewery. Sold at Wild Oats in a six pack with a cylindrical pilsner/alt glass attached. Pours pale straw with a rocky, lacy head on top. Big German hop smell at opening stays with the pour. Lazy stream of bubbles rises through the glass. A nice German malt, with a very, very slight tart note. Kind of a grassy straw taste, finished of by straightforward noble hops bitterness. A solid interpretation of the style, and who’d a thought a place in Berkeley would have the discipline to make a pils to precise German engineering standards.<hr>Draft, Sept 18, 2005. Sampled in a solid plastic mug, so I couldn’t get a handle on its color. Have to presume it’s okay. Taste, though, is light and "crisp," like American pale macros claim, but this one really is. But beyond that, not much stands out in the way of hops, just the standard German bitterness against pale malts. Finished nice and dry. Again, an imported pilsner that’s probably much better closer to home. Additional note, Aug 10, 2006. Finishing the sixer, I found that last bottle started to show more nice German hop bitterness. Crisper and cleaner. I think that’s worth bumpint the rating up a notch.

A nice pils that sits high in the aussie market however i find it too spicey, a little dry for my liking, it seems to lack traditional pils values.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 DeliveryDriver (108) - Illinois, USA - APR 1, 2013
Poured clear and light golden with a big, foamy head. Smelled grassy and grainy. Really light bodied and easy to drink. Had a bit of a hop bite on the end. Surprised at the low ratings for this one.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 DocJitsu (307) - California, USA - MAR 30, 2013
Pours a light wheat color with a soapy white head. White lacing remains on the glass as the beer is consumed. Tart hard candy and, perhaps, some notes of banana. Very nicely carbonated. Sweet ripe banana notes balance the tart fruit. Very good pilsner.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 TobyMartin (15) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - MAR 23, 2013
In a 300ml trumer glass on tap at the Local Taphouse, St Kilda, 20/03/2013. Pours a crisp and clear straw colour with a long lasting fluffy white head. It has a light aroma with hints of citrus including lemon rind from the hops and a subtle spiciness from the yeast. It’s light bodied as you would expect from a pilsner. It has quite a grainy flavour with some citrus and a fairly dry finish. Light and crisp with an attempt at depth, it’s certainly not the worst pilsner on the market. One for a hot day.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Bif (1023) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - FEB 15, 2013
Pours a light golden color with a big Pilsner head that fades to some lacing. Mild citrus aroma with some malt sweetness in the background and bit of grain. Taste of a mild malt sweetness and fresh grain. Nice bitterness and a clean finish. Fairly light body, crisp smooth and refreshing. Decent drinker that goes down easy.
4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Lemke10 (541) - Janesville, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 24, 2013
Much like the bottle shows it pours a pale yellow color that has a lemon scent to it. The lemon flavor continues into the taste making it a very smooth and easy drinking beer. Great taste and just the right volume to go with it. Definitely recommend as a summer beer!
