3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Taster at Brewers Rendezvous. Pours a thin white head, over a hazy yellow (SRM 3) body.....nose is light fruit with pear, apple....taste is light pear, apple, hints of smoke, barnyard....mouth feel light of medium, alcohol hidden, light acid, finishing clean. This falls into the Belgian Golden Strong, but is a bit light in complexity. BJCP 7/3/12/4/6

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Goblet at the brewery. Pours a dark gold with a small head. I was worried about overpowering esters on this one after having their Belgian pale ale the other night and I was half warranted in my fear. The nose is powerfully yeasty with cloves and light bananas, but it’s not necessarily too syrupy or cloying. There are hints at crackers and a woody bite for balance. The palate is medium dense with the flavor concentrating on heavy cloves. There aren’t that many fruity notes, considering the style and the rest of the flavor going on. The finish is sort of dry with a crackery note. This is more bluntly yeasty than I like, but it’s not to the point of being unenjoyable.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at the brewery. Pour is clear golden in appearance with a small white head - decent lacing. Big fruity, somewhat phenolic, banana, pineapple, musty, and biscuity aroma. Taste is banana, pepper, somewhat alcoholic, fruity, sweet, and coriander with a light burn on the backend. Slick mouthfeel with soft carbonation. OK.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Tap at the brewery - holy sweetness, man - this is a seriously syrupy beer, both in flavor and in texture - there is also some starchiness, soapy flavors, floral notes - light bitterness, some alcohol heat, chalkiness - overall just crazy sweet and messy - these guys do way better with session ales.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Clear golden with a lasting thin white head. Lovely aroma of earthy caramel, blonde grains, a little boozy ester, and a lovely amount of Belgian yeast fruitiness, like dry orange peel, a little tangerine, a slight tone of peach, fresh cut grass, and a wee perfumy floral note. Great full body with a sweet malty linger and a lively yet calm carbonation. Wonderful balance. Flavor was the same as the taste. Nice and dry yeast fruity esters meet with a grainy sweetness and a slight booze warmth.
