Dark ruby, nearly black - aroma of dry cocoa, raisin, anise, espresso, vanilla bean, earth - creamy texture, medium to full.body - medium dry and fairly rich, with a lot a bittersweet chocolate, followed by anise, raisin and other dried.dark fruits - finish has loads of coffee character - lingering bitter chocolate - we have a winner here.

Pitch black with a foamy khaki head, giving off a wonderful aroma of coffee, licorice, bakers cocoa, and nice gentle roastiness. Smooth mouthfeel with a nice full roasty body, but ventures slightly into the syrupy acidic palate wrecking qualities of higher alc beers. Flavor is deep and roasty with dark bakers cocoa, a slight touch of molasses, a little burnt coffee, and gentle smoke. It’s good, just a bit acidic and burnt-tasting.
