Yep this is a diaceyl bomb! Really makes everything else taste weird! Some caramel and hop regular AIPA stuff but really all you need to know is butter because that’s all I could focus on.

Tap at the brewery. Nothing special, pretty average IPA. Good hop bitterness, but slightly undercarbonated for an IPA. Almost smooth.

On tap at the brewery Dec 2013. Pours amber, with aroma of pine and grass hops. Moderate carbonation and mouthfeel. Flavors of big malts, hops, grass, grapefruit hops. Overall nicely balanced with creamy malts...tasty.

Just fine IPA. Floral hops with resin and pine in the body. Bitter and clean finish? Slightly creamy mouthfeel for an IPA. Not much else to say.

On tap at Trve. Pours a murky amber-gold with a white ring. Light aroma, of citrus hops, malt, and sugar. Taste is hoppy and bitter-sweet, with sugar and earthy grass. Lingering thick bitterness. Decent IPA.

On tap at TRVE. Gold and pretty clear with a white head, mostly diminishing, light lacing. Fresh hoppy and fruity aroma with notes of pine, resin, medium bitterness and sweet malts. Similar flavor with a medium body. Pretty decent.

On tap @ TRVE. Pours a clear golden orange color with a big soapy white head. Nose is orange peel, grapefruit, caramel, and pine. Grassy hops, some floral hops, light fruity notes, and bread. Flavor is quite sweet caramel and toast. Somewhat oxidized hop character. Grapefruit, orange, and pine. Light bitterness on the finish. Decent tropical fruit.

Tap. Clear orange yellow with a oddly thin and foamy head. Smells of pine, resin, and citrus. Flavor is sweet citrus, pine, and spice with a dry and bitter finish. Medium bodied.

UPDATED: SEP 25, 2013 10 oz at the brewery. Judging from other ratings, TRVE had some quality issues to start. Well, in my experience they have been solved. This IPA is very solid. That?s the best way to describe it. Clean, pine forward with a little citrus, good malt balance with a medium palate. The nose gives a little dank, resinous quality and the flavor is smooth caramel and evergreen. Balance is spot on with enough hops to make this clearly an IPA. It?s clean and absent of any brewing flaws.

Sampled at the brewery. Pours amber with a lacy head. Aroma of citrusy and piney hops plus some pale/caramel malts. Flavor the same. Average texture. A pretty good IPA.

Cloudy gold - a fairly straightforward ipa here - soft carbonation - medium sweet up front, followed by some piney and floral hops that, in the end, kind of taste a little like sandalwood soap - medium bitterness and acidity - plenty of other local ipas that are significantly better.
