Tasted at brewery Dec 2013...listed as 5.8%. Pours amber with head and lace. ARoma of funky esters, slight malts and hops. Moderate carbonation and big mouthfeel. Flavors of saisons, grass hops, chestnuts, amber malts, minerals. Overall tasty and relatively easy drinking, with some funky herb and bitter melon rind flavors.

On tap at the brewery. Aroma has a slightly malty character with light honey, caramel and toasted bread. Moderately strong fruit aromas with pear, apple and a light overripe stone fruit. Faint phenolic character. Pours a slightly cloudy golden orange with a moderately thick white head with nice retention that lingers on the edges. Flavor has a light malty sweetness with some toasted bread and honey. Faint caramel. Moderately strong fruit esters with pear being most prevalent but some overripe stone fruit, light banana and red apple as well. Medium bitterness with faint floral hop flavor. Slightly phenolic. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall an alright beer, but too ester forward and a bit too sweet. The beer needs a more prevalent hop and bitterness to balance out the malt.

10 oz at the brewery. Pours a cloudy amber with a white head. The aroma is packed with Belgian esters, a bit much. There is no real indication of an American pale ale here, this is a straight up Belgian ale. Clove and banana pound my nostrils. The palate is a little sticky with the yeast taking over. This is straight up clove and sticky fruit in the flavor. I like my Belgian ales to be a little more subdued.

Clear gold pour - supposedly brewed with a belgian yeast, but it seems pretty clean for that - pils malt is one of the more dominant flavors - light crackery character - medium.dry, with a light bitterness and a light mineral notes - some peppery character in the finish, perhaps from the belgian yeast - clean, easy drinking, fairly good.

Sampled on 10/11/2012 at GABF. This Belgian-American Pale Ale pours a light yellow gold color from the tap. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, slightly citrusy and yeasty. A medium bodied Belgian-American Pale Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are citrusy and herbal. Decent carbonation. A touch of yeast. Very smooth taste. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
