500ml Bottle Conditioned: Heavily carbonated. Pale gold colour. Smells of straw and carbonation. Okay, I’m going to ignore the irritating carbonation that makes this taste like Miller Lite because I can tell there’s a better beer under there. There are hints of stawberry and melon with a subtle malt body. The hops (from what I can distinguish from the carbonic-acid) are of lemon and lime. My bet is that this would be 10 time better if it had come from a cask that had been open for a day or two.

Amazing little bottle conditioned winner here! Aroma is citrusy, grape fruit seriously peachy. Taste is down the same path, bitter dry, really hoppy though the pale malts do come through eventually.

Very pale but very bitter too. Not exactly a blonde ale if you ask me. However this brewery has something special.

1. Cask Stillage from the jug at the Smithfield Hotel, Manchester 15/01/2004 Clear golden coloured and very fruity on the palate. Tea flavour. Dry hop finish. 2. Cask Stillage at the Metropolitan Cathedral Crypt, Liverpool 19/02/2004 Golden coloured sweet on the palate and slightly hoppy. Some dryness in a malt finish.
