3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 MalcolmTucker (513) - SCOTLAND - NOV 5, 2012
Bottle. Promising aroma that is strong lemon with a brett hint. Flavour is muted compared to the aroma - lemon, grapefruit, sweet malt and bitter finish. A average beer that could’ve been a lot better.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 jackl (2596) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 7, 2012
Bottle @ CPK. Thanks to Leighton for the pour. Slight gusher. Pours a light gold color with a medium white head. The nose is dusty barnyard, some peach, mild grain. The taste shows a mild infection. Funky brett, pastoral grass, hints of peach and sweet grain. Light body, soft carbonation. Overall, this beer was definitely out of sorts. The brett actually added a playful dimension to the flavor. Still, not great on this showing.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Leighton (6973) - London, ENGLAND - SEP 7, 2012
Bottle shared at CPK, London. Gushes a bit upon opening. Pours a lightly hazy gold with a creamy, white head. Dusty malt nose with hints of tang and dirt. Light sweet flavor, certainly tangy though not fully infected. There’s some hay and straw, hints of dirty grass. Light bodied with high carbonation - excessively high, as with most infected-ish beers I’ve had. Light sweet finish, mild citrus, dirty hay. Too bad the condition is off. The bottle had a good five months before going bast its Best Before date, so definitely a pity.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 iammarc (382) - Inverness, SCOTLAND - MAR 22, 2012
500ml bottle, Tomlisons Inverness. Pours a pissy colour, a bit hazy with a thin white lacing. Aroma: Whiff of lemon lockets, a little medicinal, with powerful citrus smells - lemons, limes. A sharp palate, a little sticky. A solid grapefruit bitter finish - overall, not bad but not amazing. Excellent initial aroma, but lacks something that gives it an edge in the final taste - a bit boring.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 tombyars (1205) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - MAR 12, 2012
Sampled this IPA at the Failford Inn, Failford, Ayrshire in May 2006. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear straw in colour with a foamy white head. Short floral and hoppy aroma, brief in intensity. Pale malt complexes giving typical citric lemon fruit notes with a hint of tart grapefruit. Dry hop bite in the dusty resiny aftertaste. Finish is rather tart with citric pith present in the palate. Another Scottish pale ale jumping on the Deuchars bandwagon!
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Scopey (3252) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 20, 2011
Bottle from Deeside Drink Emporium, Banchory. It pours hazy straw yellow, with a thick fluffy white head. The nose is white bread, hay and dough. The taste is citrus fruit, floral, grass, wood and solid bitterness, with a very dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Good use of hops.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Benjii (3049) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUN 17, 2011
On cask at the SRAF. A pale straw coloured beer with a thin white head. Caramel, grainy aroma with some black pepper also. Flavourwise, there was some spice and mild bitterness although these didn’t linger. A little chewy but not overly complex.
