3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Scopey (3253) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 27, 2013
Bottle at Jake’s Place, Edinburgh. It pours hazy golden with a medium white head. The nose is farmyard, pine and earth stewed orange. The taste is smooth, moderate bitterness, grapefruit, lime, light resin and light farmyard with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Ok, but a bit too much farmyard action for my liking.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 mjs (3617) - Helsinki, FINLAND - SEP 8, 2012
(Cask at Gallows Bird, 20120908) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was small and white. Aroma had butter, malts and fruitiness. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, butter, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty and bitter. Overall impression was musty and the diacetyl pushed through quite heavily.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 rosenbergh (4674) - Helsinki, FINLAND - SEP 8, 2012
Cask at the Gallows Bird, Espoo, Finland.
Slightly cloudy golden colour with tiny white head.
Strange aroma of fruit, diacetyl and gooey malt.
Flavour is not good. Unbalanced.
Fruits, hops, touch of bitterness, malt and some factor x that makes this not so pleasant.

Bottle. Golden with white head. Grapefruit and light caramel nose. Flavour is sweet citrus with some tropical fruit. Finish is light bitter. Really enjoyed this. I’m enjoying the hop trial series so far.

I’ve had a few bottles of this now. The first had an inadequate level of carbonation and basically no head. Subsequent bottles have worked out so I’m giving it the benefit of the doubt. Amber with a fair white head. Very nice aroma. Tropical fruit hops. Flavour is malty with characteristic Cascade flair. Pineapple and mango. A sweetness which I very much enjoy. I’m a fan of the range. Sessionable without being over-simplistic.
