Clear medium amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, caramel, light malt extract. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, malty, caramel, licorice notes. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20110819]

Cask at Bishops Stortford Beer Festival 2010. A hazy black beer with a brown shine under a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of hops, grass, and spices. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, grassy hops, and spices, leading to a dry bitter finish. The body is light.

From cask at Blackfriars. Pours clear and golden deep amber to mahoghoni brown with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted malty, light caramelish to light cinnamon spiced. Toasted malty, bitter, caramelish dry to breadish. Roasted malty lingering finish.

Cask@Bishops Stortford Beer Festival 2010 (as Tryst Drovers 80/-). Runyish brown colour with small brown head. Aroma is chocolate, wood, some grains, but overall quite sweet. Flavour is grains, plum, some slight sherry as well as mild spicyness.

Bottle @ Danish Summer Gathering, Ulfborg 2011. Pours cloudy amber with a small white head. Sweet caramel. Grain and citrus. A bit of marmelade and yeast. Smooth.

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are nuts, caramel, malt and hops.

Bottle at Chris_o birthday bash 08. Chestnut with disappearing head. I thought it was alright. Decent hop. Fine, bit sherberty again. Bottle brought down by my friiend Charlie from Falkirk.

Bottle. A clear, dark amber body with a small, white head. Weak nose with some toasted malts and a fruity hint. Rather weak flavor too, roasted and toffee-ish, slighlty licorice like and bitter. Medium body. Short, roasted finish with some bitterness. A boring one, even for a British bitter. 110819

Botella. Unclear deep amber colour. Pleasnat fruity caramel toasty malty aroma. Ok mouthfeel. Fruity toasty malty flavour, some citrus too. Nice.
