1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle 480ml, Nose is unexistant, aroma is watery with a kind of mango background, no malt, no hops, just a sweet carbonated liquid with light body and strange fruit notes, light peppery bitterness at the finish.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
500 ml bottle shared by Lubiere (merci!). 08JL12.
App.: Clear light golden with no head.
Aroma: Vaguely fruity, slightly vegetal, DMS, not much else, maybe some wet ash?
Palate: Medium body, moderate effervescence.
Flav.: Fairly fruity, not bad malt, that’s all; dry with a little bitterness and a lightly fruity, biscuit-ish malt finish.
A little like a cider.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Yellow gold in body with tight carbonation and a mostly lasting thin pad of white atop (unusual of a Chinese lager!), Hints at lavender and elderflower giving a pleasant floral edge to its otherwise sweet peardrop, corn and bready malt aromas. Prickly carbonation upfront otherwise it is smooth for the length with a fruity but dry finish. Delicate, dusty malt base with elderflower and lavender notes again playing a balancing part. Low bitterness, good length with a light to moderate body. Pear drops peak in, as does little lemon fizz-whizz giving a sharp tang to the side of the tongue. I tried this near on room temperature as the fridge of the off-license struggled to chill it. And it weren’t too bad. I’d imagine it would be killer sessionable chilled! 2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
A golden lager with a thin white head. In aroma, light boiled veggies with light chalky notes. In mouth, a lightly fruity malt with light German hops, a bit metallic, OK. Tasted with ProbstBlueRibbon, July 7, 2012.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Living in China, my friends and i did a Chinese beer tasting(lagers only), and this came in second behind Xinkiang from the Xin Jiang region in the west. Though we tried 24 beers in rounds, the competition wasn’t great, given Chinese beers are generally less than 4% and often have a tinny flavour to them which is unpleasant when you’re sober.
Aguerta is mildly bitter and generally pleasant without being outstanding.

1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
Bottle @ Qingdao beer festival. Pale lager, smells corny like roasted corn flakes. Too many malt sugars, tastes like cereal flavored with malt extract. Too sweet. Cloying. Thin peroxide palate. Very disappointing.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Draft at the Qingdao Beer Festival. Supposedly the best beer they make, or that’s how they want to present it. Straw colour. Quite a sweetish bland beer that fails to deliver any particular enjoyable character.
