Kåstå (1144), Mol, Belgium Aug 19, 2005 Dark amber coloured beer with medium head. The aroma is light smokey with hints of tar. The taste is bitter roasted with a hidden vanilla sweetness. Long bitter dry roasted finish. The most interesting and complex Chinese beer I have found so far.
Nnudd (23), , Denmark Aug 5, 2008 Bottle. Dark colour with a thick, light brown head. The aroma has a light roastiness and appetizing leafy hoppiness. The body is moderately full with rich malty flavours of nuts, dark chocolate, and light coffee. Better then i expected. raymondwave (785), Finland Jul 22, 2008 Bottle, 6.7 %. Almost opaque brown black and beige head. Nose is bitterish dark chocolate, some coffee, spiciness, anise. Flavor is roasted bitter, strong chocolate, coffee, maybe slightly salty, anise, liqourice. I’d say this is more into porter or stout at 6.7 %. And pretty good at it. Still has the dryness of a schwarz. FrankJohansen (2600), Sabro, Denmark Nov 23, 2007 Bottle. Ruby colour with a nice beige head. Rich coffee aroma and taste with notes of roasted malts. A bit thin. BückDich (4540), Boise, Idaho, USA Sep 16, 2007 Updated: Sep 29, 2007Bottle: Also enjoyed on the Yokohama subway. Fairly stouty, not as black as the usuall deep SE asian dark lager, a shady brown, maybe. The nose though is fairly strong and roast, some bright fruity coffee and a well rounded acidic light roasted malt note. The flavor concurred with a vague roastines, yet sweet and full of chocolate. It’s heading somewhere else far from this place, but for this spot, at this time, it was not bad at all. Capa (737), Yokosuka, Japan Sep 16, 2007 Enjoyed on the Yokohama subway. Dark brown in color. Tons of molasses, malts, coffee, anise, nuts, and sweet dark fruits in the aroma. Decent body. Flavor is full of the molasses and roasted malts with some coffee and cocoa backing it up. Leaves you with a long bittersweet finish. Left me suprised, a very solild brew.
