I gave this beer every chance by pouring into a glass that had a bit of residue left over from a bottle of Mikkeller. However, this may have worked against the poor old Chinese lager as it was a nigh on impossible act to follow. Suspiciously light yellow with a head, which to its credit didn’t immediately surrender and bugger off, which it did do after a couple of minutes. There’s some aroma of pale malt and stale honey. It tasted of the same with a little sweetness. Not an outstanding beer by any stretch of the imagination. Lacking in imagination and in execution. Good beer if you want tsomething cold and wet that won’t touch the sides, but otherwise tshithouse.

Clear golden coloured body with a soapy white head. Aroma of awful skunk, malt and funky scents - could be the clear bottle? Light-bodied; Sharp malt flavour with some odd sweetness, mellow citrus taste and a little alcohol note. Aftertaste shows some skunk, some malt and a touch of alcohol - not too pleasant. Overall, not such a great beer, but slightly different and still nice to try since I can’t find this at home. I sampled this 33 cL bottle (best by 28/03/2012) purchased from CitySuper in Harbour City in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong on 24-August-2011 for HK$8.40 sampled on 25-August-2011 in my hotel room in Central, Hong Kong.

Bottle 480ml with label "Super Premium" 5°. A very sweet beer with malty notes, not as bad but less hops aroma and just in the average.

It was a Tsingtao. Yeah, it has a different name in China and the label is a little classier. But hard to notice a difference. It is, really, just a pale lager from a mass market manufacturer / brewer. Not up to Michelob standards. Available free at the Club Floor lounge at my hotel in Shanghai. Had a couple. After that decided I would rather pay for better beer and stopped drinking these. Innocuous fizzy pale water.

Found in Paris. (Yes, Paris). Pours with almost no head, yellow colour. Smells of wet boot leather and alcohol, corn and rice. Taste is dry bread and grains. Some hints at a bread taste. Dry finish. Dull and unappealing.

(296 ml clear bottle from a supermarket in HK) slight, quickly disappearing skunky nose, pale yellow colour, light yeasty / rice flavour, long mildly bitter finish

Compared to the others I’ve had so far, this is far superior! And it’s cheaper too. Somebody out to talk to management about this. At least it did have some body, beer flavor, color and head. Too much adjunct. It’ll work. No bad characterisics, not too many good ones either.

Bottled, 330ml, pasteurised, brought back from Hong Kong by my sons girlfriend (thank you Lucy). Yellow beer with big fizzed head. Grainy, corn nose, heavy carbonation, the flavour is of rice until a lemony note takes over. Thin and grassy throughout. Just drinkable.

I’m assuming this is the correct beer as my notes only say Tsingtao and 4.5% alcohol, but not "Premium"...anyway, this is pale gold, with only a VERY thin white head. Light grainy nose, and not much more. Palate is,again, light, grassy and quenching, but lacks body & character...but I’ve had a lot worse!
