3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
I may be swayed by the commercial description being so great...
Plenty of molasses and some balsamic character along with burnt malts in the nose. Dark brown body is not quite opaque and topped by a low dark tan/brown head that recedes to a partial cover. Flavour is actually quite nice. Plenty of chocolate, a lot of roast. Middle of the road but enjoyable. Sweetness lingers. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Canned. Cellar temperature. Olympic 2010 tasting.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottled. Tnx Noize for the import. Aroma has liquorice, some roast, grains. Clear, black coloured beer with a thin head. The taste has some roast, malts, liquorice. Bit salty soy like. Very funny commercial description. probably typical for the Chinese. Mao’s red book was also such a laugh. I’m afraid they are serious.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
355 ml bottle. Dark brown, almost black body with a medium sized, dense, creamy, brown head. Aroma of dark, sweet malt, roasted coffee and mocha. Flavor is sweet, roasted malt, creamy coffee like latte, some dry fruit and a bit sour-bitter. Quite nice, but a bit too sweet and sour kind of flavor.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle brought and enjoyed in China. Huge light brown thick head that mostly lasted. Excellent display of lacework. Dark brown color with a reddish glow to it. Aroma of sweet light roasted malt, hint of chocolate, light dried fruity feel. Medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Light sweet and bitter flavor. Light roasted bittersweet finish. This was actually a positive surprise, with all the pale lager stuff that you normally find in China. Maybe I just needed the change of pace, but I enjoyed this one.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours black pretty much with a tan head that fills at least 30% of the glass. Smell is a little sharp and somewhat sweet. Taste is kind of medicinal, little cocoa, little sweet but somehow decent. Dry finish. Pretty ok.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Near black colored, little light brown head. Sweet syrupy aroma with roastiness and caramel, some vinous note also comes up, still too sweet for me. Medium bodied. Flavor has more roasted start with sweet caramel still coming up, aftertaste turns to syrupy with some biting burnt tone.

Can: Aroma is malty and quite sweet, mainly sugary, with roasted malt and burnt cacao. Black color, coffee brown creamy head. Flavor is sweet and malty, sugary, notes of molasse and candy. Burnt malt, cacao powder, cooking chocolate, roastiness. Dry, cacao bitter end. This has been the best beer from china yet.
