COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

NOTE: Under this entry, rate ONLY exported Tsingtao that roughly matches the ABV and local Tsingtao that matches it completely. If it differs in any way and doesn’t match the other entries under the brewer, please send in a bug report with the alcohol percentage, degrees plato (important!), the GTIN and preferably a link to a picture of both the front and the back label so that we can set up an entry.

Test vom 21.9.2004, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 6,10,8,9,11,9 - 8,80

UPDATED: JUN 3, 2011 Nice sweet lager that has more flavour than the usual European ones. Most Chinese restaurants serve it.

A: The beer pours a pale straw color with lots of visible carbonation and a short lived white head. S: Lots of corn and rice aromas to it, which isn’t really surprising. A light/pale malt aroma and a little bit of flowers and grass. Minimal yeast and bread notes. T: A light bready flavor with a surprising amount of malt flavor. Light bitterness and grassy notes with just a hint of skunk. Sweet grain, particularly from the adjuncts. M: Light in body with a medium level of carbonation. O: A light and easy to drink beer. Not really my favorite, but it goes well with a Chinese meal.

20110528 Home (4,7% bottle from Lidl): A yellow beer with a good thin white hed. Aroma: in the beginning some malt, sweet and hops. But this only for a very short period. Taste: some sweetness and a slightly bitterness in the aftertaste. A beer with less body. Typical for a beer which is produced with rice. Later is the taste a little sticky from the sweetmess. Maybe you must drink this beer very cold......

Not really much at all in the way of aroma or flavor. Reminiscent of Dos Equis or Corona, although more like Corona because it has a nasty flavor edge to it.

I was really looking forward to this, since I’m eager to try different countries. So I found this Chinese beer a few weeks ago. Yesterday was the day to try and my god... Poured out in a regular lager glass, forming little head, smelling skunky and looking pale yellow. Almost light green. Flavour is weak, some metallic subtaste in it. Strange, because it comes out of the bottle. This is defintely not my favourite beer, more like one of my worst. Too bad."

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2012 Almost as bad as corona. Although the rice version. Has pretty much nothing but rice and corny shit in smell or taste, reminding me of corona. Crap

Bottle. A clear light yellow, pours with a small/medium white head. Aroma w. notes of hops and metal. Taste is corn, metal and hops, a bit bitter. Quite watery, unbalanced.
