COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

NOTE: Under this entry, rate ONLY exported Tsingtao that roughly matches the ABV and local Tsingtao that matches it completely. If it differs in any way and doesn’t match the other entries under the brewer, please send in a bug report with the alcohol percentage, degrees plato (important!), the GTIN and preferably a link to a picture of both the front and the back label so that we can set up an entry.

Poured into a lager glass from 12 oz bottle. Colour is light golden, typical appearance for a lager. Aroma is very madly and yeasty. Served very cold, the flavour was mild. Some hop bitterness can be detected. Palate is smooth with good Carbonation. Overall a nice light beer to compliment a Chinese cuisine dinner.

found at lcbo, bought a bottle, opened and smelt stinks skunky. Poured out into glass light pale brown color, little head. Again smell like skunk, bad batch exposed to light on shipment? take a chug, sort of fizzy in the mouth, bitter and not that great going down. This is not a good beer. And I am going to china in may and this is their famous beer....

Bottle (640ml): This was a pretty avg. looking beer what was quite clear and pale. It smelt & tasted exactly as you’d expect from a pale lager with grain & corn dominating both categories and scoring about average in each. It was light on the palate, smooth enough & crisp but there is much better beers out there costing less. More at: abarwithnoname.wordpress.com

Golden carbonated with no head. The nose is slightly honeyed and metallic. The taste is of a sickening sweet vegetable oil. The palate is thin and unpleasant but cleans better than some cheap lagers.

The beer is a light clear straw with a thin white head. The aroma is just hops and skunk and the same is said for the taste. The feel is a little less watery than I thought but its drinkability is held back by a bitter skunked finsih.

Reviewed from notes. Pours a moderate golden straw color with a white head and a tiny amount of lacing as it goes down my glass. Nose is lightly skunked hops and a bit of grain. The taste is light grain and straw with some mildly herbal hops. Light body with good carbonation. Not a great beer, but drinks well enough. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 10-24-2010
