COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

NOTE: Under this entry, rate ONLY exported Tsingtao that roughly matches the ABV and local Tsingtao that matches it completely. If it differs in any way and doesn’t match the other entries under the brewer, please send in a bug report with the alcohol percentage, degrees plato (important!), the GTIN and preferably a link to a picture of both the front and the back label so that we can set up an entry.

640 mL bottle from Tesco poured into a pint glass. Golden and with little gas (as poured straight in a couple of goes). Consequently has a good head on it. Nice hoppy and malty aroma. Tastes a bit plain but very smooth. Tastes a bit nicer than most over-malted lager but the flavour is in the aroma rather than the liquid. Tastes reasonable and has a German purity about it (though obviously not Rheinheitsgebot), but could do with a couple more flavours to it.

Bottle at Chinese restaurant. Pale yellow with a white head. Aroma has some fruitiness along with a general lager aroma. Taste: slight bready notes, low bitterness, some grass, hints of fruit maybe. I also get an unusual taste that may come from the rice. Acceptable.

33cl bottle
Pours a yellow straw colored beer with a small white head.
The aroma at first reminds me of medicinal herbs but shows his very slight maltyness after some time. The taste has the same strange flavor but has a more appearent malt flavor and in the end a slight mint aftertaste. Hop pressence is zero to none. The body is very aqueous.

Bottle in a Chinese restaurant on Kurfürstenstrasse in Berlin. Had it to the springrolls, but had to change to wine after that. 1 bottle more than enough.

Christmas gift from Cissy. Thanks. Hadn’t rated this one. Clear gold pour with a thin white head that leaves a ring. Asian lager taste except for thin and bland. Not totally offensive, but not great.

Flaske 33 cl. Lys og bleg gylden hælde med et lille ubetydelih hvidt hovede aroma af malt og græsklæt humle. Sødlig smag af majs, noter af humle. Lidt tør mundfornemmelse. medium humle bitterhed i eftersmagen.

bottle. Pretty standard premium lager. No bad flavors, but a watery, bland finish. Light, very light hop bite. Grassy corn, hay. Not bad, not good.
