COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

NOTE: Under this entry, rate ONLY exported Tsingtao that roughly matches the ABV and local Tsingtao that matches it completely. If it differs in any way and doesn’t match the other entries under the brewer, please send in a bug report with the alcohol percentage, degrees plato (important!), the GTIN and preferably a link to a picture of both the front and the back label so that we can set up an entry.

Bottle 330ml. Boring pale lager. Aroma of light citrus. Taste is sweet, and short-lived. Palate is thin and watery. Very pale, with no head.

I’m sorry but I must say it. UGH! First off this beer has a very weedy aroma. It has the typical lager appearance to it but with very little head or carbonation. If you’re looking for an "exotic" lager I’d look to Singha. It’s not great either, but they do a much better job in the aroma and taste department. This is honestly one of the worst beers I’ve ever had.

640 ml bottle my brother brought back from South Korea. Not exactly a rarity here, but the label and size were unusual. Pours a clear, very pale yellow with a head that starts strong and fizzes out quickly. Huge skunk in the aroma, along with some corn, grass, and wet grains- nasty smelling. Flavor of grass, seaweed, skunk, wet paper, grains, corn, and rice. This is just really, really bad.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden color. Mild aroma of hops and grain, but more on the weak side. Goes down easy with a light body. Very watery. Went well with heavy japanese food and sushi. Subdued, almost watery flavor reminded of cheaper American beers.

Very clear pale yellow color with a super white, soapy head. Lots of bubbles. Head retention wasn’t too bad and it left a decent amount of lacing. Once the head was gone it left a fine little ring around the top. Not too bad looking really. A mild, somewhat grassy hop aroma. Some floral notes and I am getting hints of an almond note. Not bad at all. This beer has a nice bit of sweetness to the flavor. It was pleasant enough. Some of the "grassy" hop flavor makes an entrance, but it was subdued. A type of citrus in there also. Maybe green grapes? Puzzling. Light mouthfeel that was very smooth and easy going. Very crisp and only a slight bit watery. Some flavoring was left on the palate, but not an over abundance. This beer is easily drinkable. Would be great during the Summer. Very thirst quenching and refreshing. Lacks a bit in flavor, but a beer for socializing without complexity. A beer one wouldn’t have to ponder or try to analyze too much.

Bottle. Pours a clear straw yellow with fast fading white fizzy head. Aroma of skunk and a sharp malt back bone. Not much flavor here, light malt with light mild hop profile. Mouth feel is very watery with high carbonation. Overall, no wonder I overlooked rating this. It is easy drinking though.

Tasted 2010-12-18. Poured clear yellow with white head. A little too clean looking. Had a sweet and slightly acidic malt scent. Same with the taste. OK pilsner, but it doesn’t really need to be exported.
