Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

NOTE: Under this entry, rate ONLY exported Tsingtao that roughly matches the ABV and local Tsingtao that matches it completely. If it differs in any way and doesn’t match the other entries under the brewer, please send in a bug report with the alcohol percentage, degrees plato (important!), the GTIN and preferably a link to a picture of both the front and the back label so that we can set up an entry.

Bottle in Novotel, Beijing. Pours Straw coloured, very clear. Single finger white head goes away quickly. Sweet aroma, slight maize, grass. Tastes much the same, with a reasonably crisp finish. Pretty boring though.

From bottle generously donated by JMD 01.02.15. Very clear and pale straw colour. Quickly diminishing white head. Sweetish aroma of maize and a slight hint of grass Very moderate bitterness in similar taste. No off-taste. And not much taste at all. Low carbonation

Having just complained about the price point of a mediocre micro pils, this stuff reminds me that maybe that isn’t a terrible thing. For starters, the head on this beer is so white it practically glows. Within seconds this stuff looks like a glass of apple juice, and in fact may have less character than the average glass of Mott’s. And why the hell is it in the premium lager category when it defies the very definition thereof (ie no adjuncts)? Bah. Beer nerd rage.

Bottle. Very watery. Taste empty, small rice notes. More water than beer. Not Good.

Bière lambda rafraîchissante mais avec un goût si peu prononcé que l’intérêt est moindre.

The influence of the rice comes through, but otherwise its a bland macro lager. Drink jasmine tea with chinese food, not this!

Bottle. Faint metallic aroma. Golden straw color with thick white head that dissipates quickly; some lacing. Weak fizzy malt up front; rice flavor. Short watery finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I think you can taste the effect of the rice - a bit of extra body to the taste. On top of that it is a generic pale lager. Guess I would drink it if I was over there.
